Vogue Hong Kong September 2019 : Rihanna by Hanna Moon

September Vogue Hong Kong covers are surprisingly giving me life in this sea of lackluster September covers.

The first cover is lovely, she looks beautiful and the Vuitton looks pretty fantastic. Not so big a fan of the second cover or the editorial images overall though.

It's a bit like her Dazed, or was it Allure, cover. Decent enough, but not something I'd rush to get.

Would be interesting to see how exactly she'll approach the Vuitton partnership. Will we continue to see her front and center for everything as we do with Victoria Beckham? With Fenty, one of the brand's biggest trump cards is the fact that it is accessible, but we hardly see it editorialised on anyone other than her. I suppose that's the entire concept of this celebrity-driven beauty hype.

Lol she is trying too hard to look profound and interesting.

Still oversaturated with Rihanna and still dislike her, but admittedly she looks amazing here and the last cover is great.

I am impressed because these are all great covers. The use of lighting and shadow really elevates these covers.

She doesn't have to try though because she IS interesting.

Glorious cover <3 Once again. She really never disappoints when it comes to editorials and gives most models a run for their money.

I absolutely LOVE the first and last cover. One of my favourites for september.

She is a pop star.

I feel like Fenty (the fashion brand) is really an IG bubble. I think that with a bit of time, Fenty Beauty might be able to exist without her persona. I’ve yet to see credits in major publications (on someone else than Rihanna) but once the brand is strong enough, that moment might come.

As for the fashion brand. I don’t think the fact that it’s « luxurious » means that it will stay.

She looks good here. It's very smart of LVMH to not directly put her in Fenty but in another LVMH brand on the cover. Fenty Beauty has reached a well-established brand level. The business can sustain with well-managed team. However, I have concerns about Fenty fashion brand though.

This cover is surprisingly good !! Even though it's Rihanna AGAIN !
But finally a good cover for VOGUE Hong Kong.
