Vogue Italia April 2009 : Eliza Cummings by Steven Meisel

I find her utterly insufferable in person, but in print she's turning into a relatively good model. Though the credit should be given to Meisel and his retouchers for making this such an amazing cover. It feels like old school Vogue Italia, and I love the texture of the folds and that gorgeous gradient.

Great work everyone! :flower:

The cover is so calm and dignified. It's a shame she's not. Am I right in thinking the only agency she's with is Select, no American representation?

i like the cover is a great cover about the vintage cover and the color i think is one of the best cover lately of Meisel in Italian Vogue

i would love to do it for you, i actually put the cover up because i saw so many of you were waiting for it. it came out in italy this morning, i was sure that someone would have put it up way before. in anycase, i don't have time to do it now. sorry. the inside story does not have the same vintage feel to the colors, or the folding or creasing that is in the cover.

Well, it's a bit weird, this cover, because it looks more like the way a poster looks after being folded for years.....Not the way a magazine looks after many cross-atlantic trips, heh. The fraying at the sides of the cover are realistic, as are the creases that are parallell with the spine. But those creases over the V and O are really unrealistic....that's not the way a cover would be accidentaly folded at all...It's impossible, really. Heh, hear the nerdy magazine collector complain

We understand, thanks for being a sport and putting up the cover for us at TFS. Its a shame VI website dosent seem to be updated on time this year.:ninja:

wow, wasn't expecting this. i actually find the cover good too. not a bad one (which i was expecting before ). the crumpled paper, is that really an effect??? can't wait for the contents. ;)

finally, the cover is here. thank god. :)

She doesn't look like herself that's for sure. That's why the cover actually looks good.

Totally and unexpectedly gorgeous :o:heart:
One of the best of the year.

I love the colours and effects of the cover! Thanks BLACKLAB for the scan :flower:.

Fantastic  I'm loving the way Eliza looks here. The styling... the colors & distressed look of the image are all very beautiful.

Thank you BLACKLAB & Miss D :flower:

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I love it! the colors and the effects look interesting. but if the title of the thread didn't say it's Eliza, I would have never recognized her

The effects defiantly make this cover.

Survival Mode... I don't think they could get much more relevant than that.

Can't wait to see the editorial for this.

I am very interested to see the editorial aswell, simply because i adore the styling, and mood of the cover. Dont know but it feels very "Panos Yiapanis" to me, although i doubt he did style it.

thanks fot the cover, i really love it, it's very reminiscent of the 80's look, hope the editorial has the same vibe.:flower:
