I am so happy for Amber Valetta getting the cover and Maria Clara being on their editorial. it's second time Maria Clara is in Vogue Italia. Last time was past issue.

I do like second cover shared by Mertalas of Amber. It was good choice for a cover, far better than the first.

Amber is one of my favorite supermodels (and note that I use the term "supermodel"), and this cover and editorial do not do her justice in the slightest.

I like some of the shots from the Apple of My Eye photoshoot though, especially the last one with the zip.

I may be the one of the few that actually likes the ed in all its campiness. Only a model like A mber can save such a concept by making you believe that she's actually there.

I love the Prada editorial. That collection looks amazing in print. :crush:

If only Farnetti had the COURAGE to use Chie Chaoyu in Giambattista Valli for the cover. That shot is glamour!

I mean, that sleeve looks like a trash bag by itself, and since we're not supposed to be too literal about saving the environment, that could've worked.

It's a Small World is giving me ANTM Disaster and budget

Very underwhelming issue. But thanks for posting the editorials!

My local WHSmith had plenty of the Karl Lagerfeld covers available yesterday (way more than Amber Valletta) but I just couldn't quite convince myself that the £9 purchase was worth it, just for the Lagerfeld cover alone. A very unremarkable issue!

It's sad that they've done away with the couture supplement for March though. Now they're just like the other 3 Vogues - one edit per season. That said, I do like the couture edit. Especially that closing shot of Erika Linder. I'm also obsessed with the LaChapelle edit, which is such a breath of fresh air in this issue. To relegate it to filler while something as contrived as that God-awful M&M edit gets the cover is criminal.

I actually found the issue terribly underwhelming as a whole. Unfortunately, Edward Enninful used to do 1001 variations of the cover editorial way too often at W magazine, and for some time Alt also played with it, so looking at it here does not elicit any interest. And as if that was not enough, Farneti and his team were so bold as to copy not only Prada's minimalist and clinical campaign aesthetic for their advertorial but also Saint Laurent? You're one of the biggest fashion editions in the world and your team cannot even come up with a fresh and innovative way to present these looks? I can't imagine Vaccarello or Miuccia dictated to them how their collections should be shot. It's just ridiculous at this stage. I'll say it again, Farneti has no business helming such a high fashion-centric women's title. He clearly doesn't understand the market. To style editorials to look like the campaign shows you're trying to con your readers. Whereas all the effort and care to craft unique content seemingly went into L'Uomo. Why doesn't he just go back to GQ?

They advertise it with a huge 'Karl Lagerfeld retrospective by Steven Meisel' sticker lol. And the whole thing is like 8 pages long? Boo.

I received this issue yesterday and am agreed with most of you that it is very underwhelmed in terms of content.

It’s sad that the couture supplement is gone for now. I was quite shocked and disappointed when they first did this last year with the March issue. And this year it’s even more cruel because the Valentino couture ad pages are gone as well this time. I guess from now on we will only get one couture ed per season. At the same time it’s understandable that they cancel the couture supplement. The days are long gone when they had enough ad pages to support a supplement dedicated to couture. I was also flipping through the couture supplement from September 96 last night. One can almost not believe how many ad pages one brand would spend on their couture line in the supplement: Valentino, Ungaro, Versace etc. Each of the brands mentioned would have around 20 pages of ads there plus those Italian brands with their couture/jewelry/hair make-up products.

This will never happen in an economic environment as it is today. With less ad income, they have to shrink the volumn of the content and in the end cancel the whole supplement.

I only wish they could keep producing good couture ed each season. For me, the one in this issue is the only highlight.
