Vogue Paris May 2019 : Rianne van Rompaey by Mikael Jansson

For me Rianne's cover editorial is all over the place. Some amazing images, particularly the opening image in Chloe is perfectly executed in terms of styling and composition. However this is exactly why I never like Emanuelle's styling; all over the place, why not get rid of those military looks? What do they add to the story, beside relating back to that awful cover image? The image of Rianne jumping in the rolled-up oversize shirt is just embarrassing from a stylistic point of view, especially the way it frames her body comparatively. The leopard prints on her body in the last spread is also cringe-worthy.

Anja's editorial is boring comparatively but at least Geraldine's styling is polished and everything looks clean and aspirational. So for me, EA still needs to get her walking papers ASAP.

I realised what I can't unsee! The main ed looks like best Mario Testino's days at VP.

After that Saint Laurent S/S 2019 campaign Anja Rubik couldn’t be more predictable choice for editorial like this right, so annoying!

And I thought I was the only one that things Rianne has something common with Raquel, but somehow I don’t like Raquel and I love Rianne! Such a gorgeous editorial

What an utterly terrific issue! It does indeed feel like Vogue Paris and Emmanuelle Alt are back on form with this.

I'm only able to echo everyone's sentiments over just how sensational Rianne's editorial is, wowza. They really should've created a killer cover outta' that but I won't let the cover ruin it for me. The setting, the hair and makeup, that immaculate bronzed false tan, the clothing choices from Alt and above all else - Rianne's dynamic posing and movement.

A total sucker for quintessential VP, so Anja's editorial ticks all the boxes for me also. Geraldine Saglio posted an uncropped shot of Anja on her IG which I thought was gorgeous - only to notice it has been zoomed in heavily for the final cut. Too bad.

Fab issue, and supplement cover with Madison Headrick too, which is hopefully an indication of what to expect from June/July! I'm with you, @tigerrouge.

Anja Rubik should really rethink about her career given by her repeated expression on these similar eds

Sorry but Rianne Ed is horrible. Her face expressions are too childish. She doesn't have acting skills and the theme is so cliche. How many times are they going to shoot Tarzan and Tarzanias is not even sexy that's why they asked her to show her boobs and spread her legs to add more sex appeal to that dull face of hers but it didn't work out. She sucks.

Karlie Kloss editorial would have been a better choice for the May issue rather than tired Rianne. Actually, Karlie’s ed would have been perfect for US Vogue May issue.

^Anna and Julia unfortunately don't have editorials in this issue. The review posted a few pages back was incorrect, truly posted out of sarcasm (as stipulated by @Riseup underneath the 'review').

Rianne, along with Anna Ewers and Grace Elizabeth, is saving fashion industry. Of this generation of models, they are the ones who actually deliver and it is a pleasure to see them! They might be repetitive models for VP but at least they bring something to the table. The main editorial is amazing, I'm getting so much energy from it.

Anja's ed is so predictable. I like her but her modelling now seems automatic and I feel like I have seen that ed so many times before.

And thank you Riseup for the review, it was very entertaining and also very true

While newsstand.co.uk had it listed as available a few days ago, this issue turned up in my store today - so it should now be on sale for everyone in the UK.

There was no supplement with it, but that's hardly a surprise for the UK newsstand issue.

Got mine today too, and think the issue is just as good in print as the review and images in this thread suggested. Rianne’s editorial really is utterly spectacular and I’ve also come to love those photos of Karlie Kloss by Alique.

At this point, we can only hope the June/July issue is just as compelling (with perhaps a bolder cover). Bring it, Alt!

The cover is a little bit boring because looks like a Maxim or Lui image. But the main editorial is amazing , Rianne fits so perfect on this story & pay tribute to the work between Veruschka & Franco Rubartelli on the 70's. The other editorials are ok for a decent & flawless issue.
