Vogue Turkey June 2018 : Kendall Jenner & Mert Alas by Marcus Piggott

.... and I remember no one bitching over it.

True, but his one was buried underneath JLO, Madonna, Victoria, Miley, Kim, Selena who got most of the attention. And quite right too, if you ask me.

This is so bad it makes me cringe.

It is so tacky and cheesy, but I love it. I cannot help myself, but it's just a bit of fun and I would take this over most 'serious' Vogue covers we see these days.

My god, he is such a joke of a fame wh*re, i literally had to unfollow him due to his annoying duck face, and now this has me in stitches! PERFECT pairing of two empty, vain imbeciles!

same here, i unfollowed him twice in the past...is too much....Marcus is more low profile i guess....

The covershot is funny/silly as some parody of-- as some have already pointed out, a Bollywood tribute. Although I don’t get the impression that was their goal. (And the coverlines clearly has him as the feature star, while she’s relegated to a footnote).… Still, I’m more disturbed by that Instapic of his physically-impossible ab development, which looks like an unfinished photo chop LOL

Yikes. If I were Kendall, I'd be insulted. She looked like an accessory. Step away "manly man", I'm more famous than you.

Whatever he's done to merit a Vogue cover / whatever cover he's received still confuses me to this day. There are tons of Turkish female politicians, actresses, activists, designers, and models who've done more and are far more deserving to be on the cover than a him, more so Kendall.

This to me is nothing more than an offering to maintain good relations with M&M.

Could you name them?

Not that I like the cover or Mert Alas, but he is the biggest fashion photographer from Turkey, and it’s their 100th issue. So I get why they thought he would be a good idea for this cover.

Google is a friend, darling.

And the fact that they thought that being the biggest fashion photographer from Turkey warrants a cover speaks volumes about the state of this magazine.

If Google is a friend, could you name a couple then, honey.

Your statement implies that you have some knowledge on Turkish culture, so I’m curious to know who you think is more deserving to be on the cover of their 100th issue.

Kendall should really fire her agent because this is a complete joke... I guess they are hoping he will advocate for her to land a vogue Italia or UK covers..

I love how huge his name is on the cover, then the 'oh yeah and Kendall':rolleyes:

:lol::lol::lol:

I mean I suppose it was the next eventual step for him. You can only make a career copying others for so long.

I've just noticed the weird shadow on Kendall's face now. Jesus, lol.

What lips and shadow, I cannot get past whatever is going on on his forehead, it looks like a desert sand formation :o:blink:

It is so grotesque, Mert and Marcus continually pushing Mert as some James Dean-type, with the creased forehead (and head at a donward angle so he can gaze up) and jeans and T shirts and now a motorcycle. so gross

The second shot in post #51 would have made a far more superior cover. My eye went straight to Kendall.

Ironically, she looks incredible in those two editorial shots. You don't even notice Mert.

True! It should never have been about him, 'national treasure' or not. That second shot would be perfect for a cover. Just crop his Gerard Butler-looking face out and we're good to go.

Something like this would've been better:

^^^ That VA covershot is so supreme.

All 3 shots for this VT so far are so awful. She’s possessed of some soul in the 2nd shot— just that either her head is a transplant from another shot since it looks alarmingly bigger than Mert’s head (and there’s no way her head is bigger than his in real life). Or if her head is actually that big, they’ve gone a tad retouch happy with her head and given her the drag contouring treatment…

t-rex; I don’t see a hint of James Dean… Put a policeman’s cap on him and he’s a living parody of some Tom of Finland character (caricature).

The false head effect in the second shot looks a bit like one of those amateur p*rn mock-ups where someone pastes a nice girl's head onto a bad girl's body, but forgets to give them a neck.

The face must have come from a shot with stronger lighting, because even the greyscale can't hide that her head is a different shade to every other body part in that picture, his and hers.
