Not to point any fingers but I just spotted a memeber here who goes by the same name...Yes I realised it too, Fashion Copious is one of the culprits.
That's what I think too. The hat's horrible, and I'd also like the cover better if she was facing forward, not her profile. And why not embrace her 'freakishness' W? I'm not really a huge Lara fan but I dont feel this cover is really the 'true Lara'...I dont know how to 'say it', but it feels too soft and pretty...should have been edgier, kind of like Lara herself. The cover would be perfect if not for that heinous hat.
^I think the wonky eye is what really makes the cover. The left eye (to us) looks traditional young Bardot - deer in the headlights but charming nonetheless - and the right eye looks menacing. That's part of what makes a truly wonderful cover - mixed signals.
Exactly. Can't wait to see this in person!^I think the wonky eye is what really makes the cover. i am by no means a lara stone fan, but i am glad to see a model other than christy turlington, gisele, kate moss, or natalia vodianova on the cover of w...
that being said, i have to agree with j'adorekapusta...
if lara's thing is being the face and the body of the moment, why make her up as a copy of bardot?
it makes me think of the agyness deyn (another model i didn't--and still don't--get the appeal of)...
i-D declared her an "icon," and devoted a cover to her and all her quirkiness...
lara should be showcased as lara...
that's what vogue paris did, that's what vogue italia did...
thinking about where w is published--a country that can at times value assets such as lara'sinnocent
, i would think showing her as is would be a blockbuster...
