Why do you like/hate Prada?

^well said, it's mostly all in the styling that makes her so "clever"

I own a pair of those bought at Prada in Milan and they seem to be the very same (mine are in burgundy), but I´d like to see the dust bag and box and my page doesn´t upload too well. I´m sorry I can´t help much.

I like Prada... their face is Sasha P = 1st reason :P ...I like their ads, haha clothes are great... what the bullsh*t is this? Prada rocks! :mohawk:!!!

OMG forget this :ninja:

I think Prada has been trying too hard for the past few seasons and lost the effortless elegance they used to have. The building in Tokyo is an example as well.

i like prada because she is the result if ralph lauren and pheobe philo were to have a baby and it were to become a designer she mixes contemp art and classic and the result is beauty.

i hate prada because she never cast carol t. and heather in her shows what the hell is up with that.

most prada outfits are just not flattering... there are some pretty dresses that pop up once in awhile, but that's rare imo... and their accessories, they could start with ripping off that big, awful triangular logo.

never saw anything that actually "caught" my eye branded Prada :l
except for the black leather heals, which i personally find very stylsih and classy, but thats about it.

The clothes, perhaps. But the stores seem to be a different issue...I remember an experience back in 2001, a family friend from overseas came to visit and we went shopping in NY, the Prada staff in the store we went to seemed quite snobbish, and gave our friend poor service until she pulled out a black AE card :innocent:
I walked into the Prada store with my sister, and they asked us "Where our mother was" and "if we were lost".

I love Prada though :P

I agree also that it's the styling on the runways that pushes Prada forward, and how some of the models act, etc. The clothing is not actually always that new or exciting, imo. I looked at some of her previous collections and I find them over-decorated (but I do like the direction she's taking these recent years, like this spring). I'm mostly into HOW she's making the clothing rather than the actual pieces she makes. Like for example, the techniques in printing or embellishment, etc. I also like some of her pieces which seem to be neither too pretty or ugly, but instead maybe both, like the peacock feather skirts last spring. It's really perhaps just the styling which gives the outfits that intellectual effect or The Look. I also think she's very good at managing trends.
I almost find it annoying how she is always being praised on TV and other places I see, but no one really says WHY. They just say she's innovative and moves fashion forward... but never how she is being innovative, how she moves fashion forward. It makes me wonder if maybe they are all just following with the crowd and don't know at all what they're really talking about :ninja:

I like Prada for the innovation that it brings (obviously) and in turn the relief from the trends. I like Prada for its intellectual aspect. I like Prada because it is an excellent manipulator. I like Prada beacuse its vision is very global. I like Prada because it's like escapism and it makes fashion inspiring again. I like Prada because it's seemingly never perfect. I'll be honest, sometimes I'll hate something Prada will come up with, I'll think it's so ugly. And I love that, it gives you times to figure it out and maybe even like it. So, what is it about Prada that you like?

I love Prada's elegant, classic, but never out-of date women's RTW. I really like how their clothes make me look sophisticated, but not like I spend too much time and hard-earned cash on myself. I really can't say the same for their shoes and accessories, though. I've had horrid luck with 2 pairs of their shoes, and the accessories don't appeal to me.

I don't like PRADA because their prices are unjustified by any means. NO ONE should be paying that amount of money for the simplest things, like a keychain. I could understand maybe $50 or $60* dollars for a nice stainless steel Designer logo keychain... As if Enough is Enough, to add insult to injury, People still go out of their way and pay $120+tax to a Multi-Billion dollar company. Thats ridiculous!! I Don't know, is PRADA going to be selling $400 keychains in 10 years to it's customers, if they keep on highering their prices? They're not LOUIS VUITTON, HERMES, or CHANEL COUTURE

* 4 years ago, in 2002, I went on a roadtrip to Los Angeles with my best friend. And on our way up the 405 freeway, we decided to stop in Costa Mesa and check out the shops at South Coast Plaza. I was only 19 years old, and didn't have a lot to spend. So of all things, I decided to buy a "triangular" PRADA logo keychain for $60 bucks! 3 months later the keychain was broken. The white Prada shopping bag was the only thing I had left from that store. It's disturbing for me, to think that a multi-billion dollar company like Prada, have increased prices on all their product, including keychains now selling for $120 and up. I wonder if their $120 keychains are still working for all those customers who've purchased one in the last 3 months?

I like some of Prada's designs, but for the most part I like the ads way better than the clothes.

In my opinon, they're right up there with Chanel, Hermes or Louis Vuitton. Prada is a very popular, very expensive, high-fashion company. The prices are going to be high. No one is forcing the customers to buy their clothes. If they didn't have the money, they wouldn't be buying it.

That's only Prada Sport, or Linea Rossa as they seem to like to call it nowadays.

^ I never did like the Prada sport anything. I like the ready to wear line- but i can't afford it

and i don't care for the shoes or accesories at all....
