Yohji Yamamoto

I think it's alright without another layer. it's that with the pants I would avoid for example white underwear. though I happen to have no white ones.
I saw on TV today what it's like over there. it looked rather cold. so when snow is gone from the streets it's best to check to actually see how they look on, since I haven't tried them on.

oh - i see...
...
*i have no white ones either...

i will def try to find them at barneys to see how they are...
i will report back here...

i was just thinking that the blue ruffled top might actually be something nice and different for under my Y's red jumper...

hankyu exclusive rayon broad cloth homme items, too bad what looks like sashiko is something printed though.
long shirt, himopants, wrappants, if you get any of them, the bandanna comes with it.

what?!!
i LOVE them!

yes- it would be nice if they were vintage sashiko, but then they would be very fragile and scary to wear in case they get ruined...
this way they can be worn in a much more carefree way!

they look unisex to me...
:innocent:...

demo-
i need to ask you to explain himo pant...
i tried to google but i just came up with this...
http://www.kekkonshiki.org/groom.php
it seems that himo is a cord for tying around the waist...

so-
from that, my guess is that himo pant is a pant that ties around the waist...
*what we would call "drawstring"...

am i close?!?
...^_^...:D...

off topic...
i was actually trying to find some sort of sashiko print bedding/quilt for my bed...
it seems like a lovely thing to wrap oneself in...

i have another question- is hankyu just for menswear?

oh - i see...
...
*i have no white ones either...

i will def try to find them at barneys to see how they are...
i will report back here...

i was just thinking that the blue ruffled top might actually be something nice and different for under my Y's red jumper...

so- i wore the jumper today when i visited the store and tried the top with it...
no good...

also- the pants are no good...
i don't love how stiff the linen is...
sometimes linen is soft and sometimes it's stiff...
these were too stiff and also a bit too long...
just not what i had imagined...

the top is cute, but also not exactly what i imagined...
i thought the whole thing would be looser...
but it's really best if the knit part is tighter...
this accentuates the volume of the sleeves and looks nice...
however- barney's does not have a size 2 left in the top...
:doh::ermm:
*they have it online though, so i might decide to order it...

i did see another pair of pants though and now they are my fave thing...
they are like long flowing culottes that sort of tie/button around the ankle in the front but not in the back...
hard to explain...
these are them...
http://www.barneys.com/yohji-yamamo...Mmvi-qcQCFW4Q7AodUBcAnw&q=yohji+pants&start=2

i didn't get them yet...
i need to let it simmer a bit because i was thinking about something completely different and these were an unexpected discovery...
maybe a bit like hakama and monpe combined?!

:woot:...

i think they are kind of amazing...

:ninja:

edit- i just saw on the site that they are +noir...
funny how i am always drawn to the +noir stuff lately...

the sahiko print items can be unisex but they are rather dekai (which is opposite to chisai). I guess it will be your time when they release a normal shirt in the print.

yes sasuga captain they are drawstring pants that have been called "himo-pants" or often just "himopan" traditionally at YY. so if you are looking for some drawstring pants there, what you say to them would be "himopan aru ?" then you'd get a response similar to what you got when you said chiisai to them. it's reassuring. the response is the expression of their relief and happiness.

yes hankyu mens tokyo is for men, although you might find something for women if you check every single corner of it.
hmt used to be a department store named yurakucho hankyu where most of the stuff was for women just like any other standard department stores in japan. but a few years ago it was renewed into the place that specializes in mens stuff,
while there are still a couple of other hankyu's that are conventional.

thanks for the report softgrey
so you tried on the +noir pants ?
they seem to be cool ones.

black hoodie from syte

syte.yohjiyamamoto

it's rather upsetting because i know that s'yte is japanese sizing and usually only one 'free' size...
which will be too small for me...

:(

but it is perfect in every other way...

...

thanks for the pics, now I think I understand what they are. in the barneys images you couldn't tell well what is going on around the hem and the tape/ribbon.

according to the info on the page for the hoodie, yes it's one size but that model is 175cm. so I'd worry about its being a bit too big.

the bottom has a strap that goes around your ankle from the front with adjustable buttons...
i confess that i got so excited when i put them on that i did not spend much time playing with the strap, but i have been thinking about it and the strap is quite long so it may be possible that you could wrap them around more than once (well- i have small ankles)...
and maybe even tuck the back of them into the strap for a variation...
pretty f-ing cool, imo...

^_^...

about the sweatshirt-
i see your point, demo...

look at the difference between the model pic of the blue top and my pic...
it's crazy to realize that the model has absolutely NO figure...
no curves at all...it's not a realistic way to know how a garment will fit...
but i guess that the sweatshirt does have a loose fit in the arms and so on...
i would just hate for it to be tight, you know?
especially if it is a thick material...

but i do love it...
i love the snap at the neck and i love the curved hem and i LOVE s'y-colon!
i checked the s'yte and it does say the chest is 52 cm and that does seem to be ok after all...

*my cousin went to the daiso in LA and sent me some little gifts and one of them was a retractable measuring tape in the shape of a pink teddy bear face!
( i guess because of my job)
so- at first i thought- oh no! it's all in cm...
but, it just came in quite handy!
yattah!

...

naruhodo I see your point.

I realized what your pants have been looking a bit like in some way in my head. these workpants

fuku2.jpg

tobishoku.net

and I might have found your new rainboots that could replace the comme motorcycle boots.
aren't their safety workboots nice ? the functionality, the price, the shape (relatively lower instep, slight bulbtoe), rather attractive.
big images if you're interested in how they look on

it seems that, even though jika-tabi's are still loved by many, today at certain kinds of venues that type of footwear is taking the place of jika-tabi, due to the safety reasons.

arigato for the language lesson...
naruhodo...got it!
:flower:

the pics of the workers in the pants are great!
thanks so much...
you are so right...
that is what they are like... especially if i tucked them into the strap...

the boots are pretty cool and cute...
though they are a bit shorter than the cdg ones...
i imagine they would be very comfortable since the workers have to wear them all day and do all sorts of things...
i confess, i've been trying to find some company that makes motorcross boots like that because i know that is what the comme ones are...

it's funny, because i never imagined wearing the pants with boots...
i imagined sandals because they are summer pants but i just happened to have my little moto boots on and they turned out to look good...
and now you show me these pics and it all makes sense...
haha...

so cool!

those guys look pretty cool...
the pants are so different when you have narrow hips though...
i wish they looked like that on me...
:(
i actually think the pants WILL be better on me if i don't wear booties with them...
the booties make the whole thing a bit heavy on the bottom and it's not as flattering...
imho...
:ninja:...

not sure what i would wear those work booties with, actually...
they are a bit short for leggings...
:ermm:...
i guess they would be good with some kind of jogger pant...
something loose like the worker pants but not as full...
at least that is what i think would be most flattering for my body shape...
^_^

*this makes a lot of sense also, since yohji has been so interested in construction sites lately...
:P
