Yohji Yamamoto

thanks for illustrating this with all these images runner...~!!!
:flower:

so---
i got the pants!...
...

gonna pick them up tonight...
yattah~!

:bounce:...

i wore them already- with a grey striped t-shirt and my YY mouse sneakers...
...

they inspired me and i pulled out my YY canvas booties and realized they are the perfect thing with the YY off shoulder dress...
worn loose and unbelted...

so i wore that today...
yippeee~!!!
almost exactly one year later i finally figured out how to wear the dress...
...

i love it...
happy happy lady over here!

wow...it looks very organic...
subterranean is the word that comes to mind...
volcanic...

hmmm...
wish i understood it better...
it must be great...

seems like the style itself is named "pomme de terre grande". and with that peculiar texture, yes you are right it looks subterranean.

you'd paste washi and silver foil together with lacquer, then cut it into like extremely fine noodles, and weave them, using normal warp.

traditionally it can be gold as well as silver, sometimes furthermore painted, dyed, or burned etc.

^_^...
i still get happy every time i hear or see that word (doitashimashite)

hmmm...
not so sure about these new bags...
they seem either overdone or underdone, to me...
there are a number of details i really appreciate (ie. the subtle Y Y stitching on the leather handles, the leather tabs on the end of the laces, the overall shape of the nylon bag)...i can't say i'd be willing to exchange what i have for one of those...
of course, you can't really tell about a bag until you put in on your arm...
that's the real test...
:P

thanks for the info and pix runner...

I would imagine it sounds foreign to you like, say, abrakadabra ?

as we discussed, the lookbook images are only 5, 6 when it comes to regulation. so is it better to post its images here, or still post in the designers and collections section ?

i love the contrast stitching...all those textures~
i think i love that one!
hope to see a bigger pic eventually...

re- regulation
i think it would be good to have a separate thread...
even if it's a small one...
^_^

so the discord F/W 2015 is up now at the official site.

thanks for posting all these runner...
i did look at the site...
surprised by how big the line is~

it's just so hard to tell about a bag until you see it in person, i think...
these look very interesting but i'm not completely sure about any of them...

though, i do have that white YY bag which i got years ago and i must say that i had it for years before i started to really appreciate it for what it is and now it is one that i use more than most of my bags...

makes me think that a lot of what yohji does is just so ahead of its time that it goes under appreciated until later when we all see and finally understand what he was thinking/doing...

i really do like the grey wool flannel material...lovely texture with the leather trim...

I would imagine it sounds foreign to you like, say, abrakadabra ?

sort of...
but even more magical...
like the word from "mary poppins"...supercalifragelisticexpialidocious
basically like a silly word from a song...
like- "shimmy shimmy coco pop"
it just doesn't sound like a real language, more like a made up word that kids would say...

but even moshi moshi sounds like that~!
:P

it's so kawaii...
which seems really youthful and playful, so it's fun to hear adults saying it all the time...
when i speak what little japanese i know, some people think i am just making up words and sounds...

hi hi hi...
so dess ne...
ahno...
sue me ma sen...

for example-my mother starts giggling uncontrollably because she doesn't realize that i am actually speaking real words, and not just making some joke and pretending to speak japanese...
:o^_^

some of the styles remind me a bit of your canvas boots.
they are sort of gyoza bags.

ahh you just defamiliarized moshi moshi, with alphabets.
now it sounds like a cartoon character name.
btw, if you are in certain part of japan, you'd hear them say mosu mosu for moshi moshi.

ah yes--- i can see what you mean about gyoza...cute~!
^_^...

thanks for the additional pics...
frankly- the look with the white shirt makes my heart stand still!
...

and, of course, i am insanely in love with the hat...
...

the hoodie is a great basic...
one of those things that is evergreen and good fertilizer- to use your expressions, runner!
^_^

yes- this is going to be a good YY fall season...

*it does make me *argh* about not having a shop here to visit to see it all in one place...
:(
for example, one really needs to try on that blue wrap, and all of the other wraps, as well...
makes me want to go back to tokyo...
but lots of things make me want to go back to tokyo...

just had a look on barneys website...
that blk tnk is just what i have been looking for...
http://www.barneys.com/regulation-y...eneck-sweater-504008759.html#q=yohji&start=22

the hoodie is a lot more cropped than i thought from the flat image...but i think it's also pretty awesome..
basic without being boring...
the back is especially nice and swingy...
it says 100% wool which means that it's more of a jacket, which is cool...
though it seems like a rather thin fabric...
the sleeves seem like they want to be pushed up to look cool...

there are also some striped tops/swtrs that look really lovely...and cool...
all regulation, it seems...
