only the hat is pour homme and it is an object-dyed one.
comes in one size, wool 90 nylon 10.

it seems that regilation stuff at barneys is mostly exclusive again. maybe the same styles but different fabrics or colors?

the skirt is 50% lyocell 50% cotton. the fabric name is "lyocell jersey".

thanks for the info runner...
i knew the crown of the hat seemed too high for a woman's hat...
it's even high for a man's hat...

interesting news about the barneys exclusives...
they really like having exclusives...
^_^...
at least i can check those items in person...!!!

thanks for the info re: the skirt...
i didn't realize it was jersey...
the way it moves made me think it was a woven fabric...
very interesting...
must be super comfy...
:P

syte makes me think of agnes b I used to see in the late 80's/early 90's, especially if it is jersey. simple, reasonably priced, easy, basic, etc. of course the silhouette and details are very different though.

what the hat looks like proportionally with mens items.
and YY post card for this season

seems like the style itself is named "pomme de terre grande". and with that peculiar texture, yes you are right it looks subterranean.

i just realized that this is a link and checked it out...
:shock::shock::shock:

that bag is AMAZING~!!!

the organic shape fits so nicely with the shape of the human body...
love the big outer pocket - (and that it zips inside)
the lining is :woot::woot::woot: ...
love the soft, thick pebbled leather- (my wht YY bag is that sort of leather too)
love the signature on the zip...

yeah- that's a good bag...

thx for the link runner...

thanks runner...
i definitely get the agnes b reference with regards to regulation...
especially the jersey stuff, agreed...

the hat looks great like that...
the whole silhouette is to die for...!!!
:heart::heart::heart:

the postcard is...:woot::woot::woot:
one of YY's best pieces of marketing ever, imo...
very YY...
do you know who shot that, by any chance?
so good...

thanks so much again, runner...

tokorode-
what does the bell ringing monk have to do with YY?

oh...wait...
i just got it...
you're referencing the cashmere wraps...!!!
took me a minute to get that one!...
:lol::lol::lol:

it's such an amazing image~~~!!!

aside-*the bells were a big thing that which i noticed on my visit to japan...
i always noticed that eastern bells are a different shape than western bells...
but i never knew that they don't have a clapper inside and are rung from the outside that way...
i was rather astonished...
:o
i still find it rather amazing...
:D

thanks so much, runner
you're the best~!

checked the link and found the bag now sold out :ninja:

no info about the postcard so far, sorry. you might be seeing more japanese in your city than usual at the moment as it is currently national holiday week (called obon yasumi) over here. so basically nothing properly available at YY headquarters.

yes this kind of thing below
as you see in the image above, the monk is actually flying. the tolling of the temple bells is such a sporty act, especially when bells are gigantic.
we can watch them ring the bell at a different temple here if you are interested, and it could be even shocking since it looks rather dangerous (and a bit piratey :argg: ).

cool~!
thanks for that link to the vid...
love it!...

i saw on TV that some temples let the public ring the bell on new year's...
like for good luck or something like that...
seems like a cool thing to do at least once in your life...
of course, in a much less sporty way than that monk!
^_^...

ah yes- i saw that the bag is sold out...
now that i have been able to get a good look at it, i am not at all surprised...
it's really fantastic...
in a really clever and quiet way...
v. cool...

thx for the info about obon yasumi...

so- i saw this and could not resist the yoox price...
it's the blazer with the sleeves that come off, from last spring...
:woot:...

not sure what it will do on my narrow shoulders...
it will either be amazing or disastrous...
i am anxious to see it in person...
:heart::heart::heart:

i love that look...
all wrapped up and cozy...
i feel like you have to be either very tall or very slim with a straight body for that...
doesn't work so well with curves, imo...

got the blazer...
the sleeves and shoulders are actually pretty amazing...
very beautiful and cool...
but i don't love the way the body of the jkt fits...
:ermm:...
maybe because it isn't lined and has no pockets...
it feels more like a shirt...
but it doesn't really look good on me when it's closed...
not really sure if i can wear it...
gonna try it with some things and see what happens...

if it's more of a shirt, how about wearing it with the jumper :ninja::ninja:
almost mazeruna kiken though

this style ?

yes- that's it...
i was thinking about wearing it with the yohji mermaid skirt...

but it does't look like that on me...
frankly- the body just isn't right for my shape...
because it comes below the hips, it spreads open much more on my hips and doesn't quite lay flat...
i thought about moving up the snap which holds it closed in order to try to adjust that, but i just don't think it would work well enough to make wearing it comfortable...

i think it would be best on someone who has very narrow, straight hips...

it's too bad because the sleeves/shoulders are really stunning...

i've already sent it back...
:ermm:...

i cannot translate mazeruna kiken...
help!!!

hmmm...
it's interesting to think of the jumper with that piece...
i can imagine it could work...
though i cannot imagine it being very comfortable...
...:ninja:...

mazeruna kiken can be something like dangerous when mixed.
it is the phrase you'd never fail to see on the labels of bleach and cleaning products. typically, chlorine bleach, acid cleaner, etc.

まぜるな危険 is where the label says it.

the SS 2014 colorway, shoulder/sleeve detail etc make me think of certain ancient garments.
anyway I guess the jumper and the blazer may be a bit more comfortable than kimono and hakama lol.

i can see the similarities there, for sure...

though, i honestly don't think the jumper and blazer would be more comfortable...
probably very similar to kimono and hakama, in fact...
as lovely as it might look, i don't think i could really do it in the real world...

i think part of the issue with the jumper is that it moves too much...
i am always having to readjust it...
i thought that it would be better if i shortened the straps, and it is...
but it is still more like some sort of bondage garment than a loose apron...
...
it's a funny thing...

:D

thanks for those images of the knits...
very beautiful colours...

the knits look very finely woven and with interesting details...
it's hard to tell how they will look when worn...
there are obviously some unusual elements, but it's hard to decipher when they are not on the body...

thanks for sharing runner...
:flower::flower::flower:

you're welcome softgrey

somehow the lookbook/catalogue images of the knits are not available online yet. unlike the S/S knits from the first season. when I see the official images up somewhere, I will start a thread.
btw, "ply" the brand name they had first announced seems to have turned out to be plyy, with the shadow.
