i see they have a number of embroidered pieces i haven't seen and since the only things i haven't seen is the regulation stuff, i guess that is what these are from...

well- now i know why i am suddenly so french whilst looking at this season's stuff...
i just watched the entire SS15 runway show...
the music was decidedly french so that is clearly the mood of the season...
not that it's a new theme for yohji...

milk is someone who was born and raised in a zoo. her mother kurumi too (I just don't know about her father). so maybe milk has some perspective different from what a wild polar bear would have.

found a pic of my YY blazer from an old runway show...
mine is black cashmere and the pockets are faux pony, not leather...
they zip off...

i also saw a movie and now i know where the pocket flap design and placement comes from...WWII uniform...german, i think...
i almost jumped out of my chair when i saw it...exactly the same...
must have been part of his uniform collection which he uses for reference...

it's was redone as sort of an "evergreen" piece for the local market...
lucky for me...

*i wore it to a book launch recently- open, with my cropped YY gabardine pants and my Junya blk eyelet top with the giant snaps at the bottom and a black fox scarf/stole w. a tail on both ends...

but i realize now that the original YY runway jacket didn't just have leather pockets...
they are black fur on the inside...
(that's why they are so puffy)

not sure but that top may be another barneys exclusive item. the style is available at any YY this season. but the lacy part looks different in the BNY pic above.
basically that blue one comes with black ruffle. and also that black ruffle comes with black raglan body.
then YY prepared the other ruffle fabric for the style. in this case, the body comes in grey with white ruffle and in black with black.


it's a really nice jacket, the shape the lapel and the fullness of the pockets.
it's from the "punk and floral layered" season, punkish military/tailored and flower ethnic.
I like his take on military around those years especially.
this is from FW 2005 though.

i confess that it doesn't appeal to me nearly as much...
there is something about the gingham check that is just so charming...
plus- i am having a personal love affair with the colour blue/indigo at the moment...
i should be uptown early next week and will make an effort to get to barneys since you say it is such an exclusive item...
i only hope it looks as good on as i imagine...

i'm glad you approve of the jacket...
all those features are exactly what i considered when trying it and making my selection...
that particular collection stands out as one of my all time faves from YY...

the linen pants comes in three sizes. so they could be a bit severe for YY pants. the fabric could be only slightly tricky too. I mean it's one of those kinds with which you have to wear something in non-contrasting color under.

i'd really hate to have to wear another layer in the heat of summer...


i have already been thinking about trying some other pants which i like from my friend's collection (at aritzia)...
her tailoring is usually quite amazing so i may find something there...

but i will still try to check the Regulation pants if they are at barneys when i go...
