Except for Louboutins?

^^ from the Louboutin thread...:D

Well, thank you for stalking me.

but fyi i sold those on ebay. I realized all the other things I could do with $700, plus i bought them before i really cared, now i do. So all my $$ shoes are stella's now.

i would never wear fur of any kind - wether the animal was cute or not it doesnt matter - its just creul. however, if people want to wear fur then that is there discision and i respect that they have the right to do that. and i would never to any of those things that some of the extreme animal rights campaigners do, they dont stop people wearing fur. Also there is no difference between killing an animal for its fur than eating a steak or whatever other meat, yes it gives us protien but so do many other things, not strictly on topic i no but i feel very strongly about it :innocent: . btw could anyone tell me wether killing animals for fur is illegal if it is an endangered animal? i was wondering about that whilst reading the thread.

First of all, these videos of animals being skinned alive are not staged. No animal rights activist would do such a thing, doesn't make any sense.
People forget that "animal rights activism" isn't a job. You don't do it because you'te making money. If you start fighting for it, it's because you really care about the issue, for it's not somehting that is going to get you any personal profit (financially or not).
Why would they kill animals to try and persuade people not to kill them?
:ermm:
If someone does so, they're not really an animal rights activist, they're just sick people posing as activists.

I'm completely against fur. I think that animal suffering is way more important than what's in my wardrobe, and I'm very happy with how I arrange my priorities.

I think that people should at least inform themselves on the whole proccess of how an animal becomes a fur coat.
Beause people have no idea what they're endorsing, all they see is a pretty coat.
People choose to live in complete ignorance, cause it's just easier that way (or do you think that fur lovers all avidly research on 'the making of the fur coat' cause they wanna know the real deal?)

It is a matter of choice, I mean you choose to kill an animal just as you choose to kill a man. Or to eat dog poop.
Doesn't mean it should be acceptable.
I'm not forced to accept the fact that you choose to endorse animal suffering.
And you're not forced to accept the fact that I think people shouldn't kill animals, but I really don't understand how can someone's mind work like that.

What surprises me is not the fact that people think it's ok to kill an animal to make a piece of clothing (I mean, people torture each other and make war, why would that surprise me?)
What I can't understand is why, for some people, some things are completely unacceptable (dog fur) and others that are really just the same, just as serious and cruel (mink fur), are acceptable?

My feeling is...

1) we kill animals and eat them

most people dont seem to have a problem with this.

2) no one needs to eat meat, there are other options.

therefore:

3)most people find it acceptable (myself included) to kill animals though it is not actually nescessary

with this oulook, the idea that: killing animals to make luxury clothing is worse than killing animals to make hamburgers, just does not make sense. It is not a nescesity either way.

It seems less of a love for animals, then a deep subconsious dislike of the elite, or of the wealthy.

----------

Those who do not wear animal products OR eat meat, i respect you because your logic makes sense.

However i disagree with you still, because I don't think animals have human emotions, reasoning, or self awareness, therefore i don't think they deserve equal rights as people.

thank you :flower:

IMO, it's not simply about having equal rights as people. We don't even have to compare animals to humans.
The fact is: animals feel pain. And also fear, despair... So I don't think it's right that we should cause them pain and fear and despair.

It doesn't change if we do compare animals to humans: we all feel the same pain. So if it's wrong to torture people, it should be wrong to torture animals, since in terms of pain we're all the same.

I'm kind of a heartless B*tch- but i do see where you're coming from.

I understand what you mean that no creature should be made to suffer, but at the same time, i am jaded and callous, and am indifferent sometimes to the suffering of other people, let alone other creatures.

I have a very "dog eat dog" attitude towards life. i feel like every person and creature has to fight to make thier own way in life, and if they cant take care of themselves, then others will take advantage of them, and that the way it goes.

survival of the fittest and all that

The only exception I feel is children, because it is a parent's responsibility to protect and care for thier children.

I guess I dont feel as bad for a croc as I would for a lepard.

yet you would have to kill more crocodiles than leopards to make the same size accessorie since they only use the skin from the belly of the crocodile rather than the whole thing. seems much more of a waste to me!

Fur didn't bother me very much until I adopted two bunnies and got to know them. They do express their feelings and have two distinct personalities. They feel fear and happiness, and do not like to be enclosed in a cage.
I would have to say I'm biased because I am mainly bothered by rabbit fur now. I don't like lizard, snake etc. because I think it's gross, rather than feeling sorry for the animal.

^Lol

I like fur and have a few of my parents coats. I wouldn't buy a new fur -probably because I like the feel of vintage pieces better. I think animal activists shoot themselves in the foot by being idiotic about things. I mean now all European fur farms are closed, there are far far far worse fur farms, with no ethics, getting all the business in Russia and the far east. I say reopen the European fur farms and have them strictly monitered and heavily legislated.

I have to say that a lot of people on this thread hate animal rights activists, but what has the behaviour of the supporters got to do with the validity of their cause?

What a wonderful point:p . Just because a person's actions annoy you doesn't make their cause unworthy, or you any more correct.

^^Exactly...i think only sick ppl can wear fur or this stuff...it is just sick,it is not that i love animals so much or so but just think bout it...it is irritating

omg until I read this I NEVER thought about it like that, but I do have to say that on their website they do promote becoming a vegetarian/vegan, but about the fact that they dont protest outside fast food joints is a VERY interesting point thanks;)

i just don't see how it's different to kill an animal for its meat, or it's skin(leather) then to kill an animal for it's fur. These are all things that people could do without if we chose too.

And you don't see Peta people outside McDonalds protesting....

I'm sure those cows were glad to die, whereas only chinchillas and foxes want to live!

are you kidding me?! have you ever heard of faux fur, their are numerous synthetic fabrics that completely mimic animal's beautiful coats, epecially a brand call Tissavel they have THE BEST faux fur, maybe doing some research in your spare time might enlighten you and inevitably prove that WE DO NOT NEED TO STEAL COATS/FUR FROM ANIMALs! or eat them;)

i dont see anything wrong with it......as long as the animal is not endangered

think of it like cutting trees down for paper........i guess its ok as long as the trees are being replaced at least as much if not more.

perhaps in the future scientists will be able to produce animal fur without actually killing an animal using the same method they are currently using to grow human skin from small tissue samples ;)
COPYRIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well God may have made them for us to eat and continue to our lives but i am so sure that they r not in this world to be killed for their fur...u may do it if u need to be warm or smth but killing them to be "stylish"...it just shows how greedy some ppl are

Sisi, comments like yours don't really put me off fur. It just makes me feel annoyed, that some people feel like they can control my life and my wardrobe. I'll continue wearing fur until I no longer can afford it.

sometimes Being A Part Of Mankind Makes Me Feel Ashamed. We Kill Animal For Food/fur Unnecessarily And If You Think About It Even A Wild Animal Would Not Kill Anything If It Weren't Hungry Or Protecting Its Territory But Humans Just Do It For The Sake Of Fulfilling A Selfish, Barbaric Need Of Wanting To. Whether Its Fashion, Eating, Hunting, Etc. Its All Sooo Inhumane And Unnecessary I Believe We Should Be More Evolved Than This HaveN'T We Come Further Than This?????
