Your Signature Scent

i used to use whatever really because i always got different perfumes for gifts but now as i'm a bit older i have definitely found my signature scents that i know i will keep buying probably forever!

Day: Princess by Vera Wang

Night: Gucci by Gucci

When I'm feeling like something different: Burberry Brit

It was such a ballsy release- something that nobody in 'the commercial designer release universe' would even dare to even think about/imagine putting together.

When you open the box, some line of poetry pops, which proclaims; 'pierce my heart again...' I mean; how can you NOT fall in love then and there. That is McQueen right there, in a bottle. It is so gothic, heart-wrenching and sweaty, it is truly sublime.

This is why I wanted to love it. I respect McQueen's decision to put out such a "niche" scent, and his dedication to make it artistic and provocative right down to the box it was packaged in. But alas, the nose knows what it doesn't like.:p

Mulletproof, it must have worked splendidly with your chemistry. I'd have bought it on the spot if I got woods and flowers instead of Indian curry and human scrotum.:ninja:

Interesting thing about scent and body chemistry, that's why you always have to sample a perfume on your skin, no matter how much you loved it on your friend or a scentstrip in a magazine.

I know!! Most of the time, the magazine strips smell like paper anyways - not reliable a reliable source at all.

But alas, the nose knows what it doesn't like.

That is so true.

Some scents just trigger something awful in my head - not just with the skin chemistry, but something mentally as well. Like that scent memory thing. Many scents I enjoy for instance, could never wear, since I had already experienced them somewhere else - on someone I knew. They just don't feel like they belong to me after being 'de-virginized' by someone else.

Prada Infusion D'iris..... LOVE IT! It never gets old

Used to be Envy by Gucci years ago. Recently I went for a perfume consultation with Guerlain's perfume specialist and she recommended a scent of theirs that was beautiful on my skin. Can't remember the name of it off the top of my head as it was out of stock and I'm still waiting for them to contact me to get it but will update when I get the info.

I switch between Jo Malone Orange Blossoms and Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey...they're both so clean & fresh, love them!

I hate to say it but Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker....its been love ever since it came out!

Pasha, have I got some wonderful trivia for you! Turns out we're not as different as our noses might suggest.:D Jacques Cavallier, the perfumer behind Kingdom, also developed my current fave Stella.

And he also developed, listen to this, Cartier Pasha de Cartier (for him). Also YSL Nu, one of my favorite incense fragrances. That one's been discontinued too, no idea why. Hard to believe it wasn't a crowd-pleaser.

I like to switch around to different scents.. esp. between cold or warm weather, day or night, etc.
However, I have to keep coming back to Burberry Brit. I get complimented and asked what perfume I'm wearing multiple times on the days I wear it. I guess it just mixes well with my body's chemistry.

I adore Stella, Nu, and Pasha!!!! I know; he is a genius.

I have worn Pasha for so many years, and Nu as well. I think Nu is pretty masculine. He is my frag god!

oh Kingdom.. i wore it for the longest time and was so upset when it was no longer carried in major department stores. i haven't ventured to buy it online (i have this horirble fear of purchasing things online..i know, crazy) but i have yet to find another fragrance that feels so 'me' so i may just have to bite the bullet. :ninja: i guess it's one of those love it or hate it smells.. i had friends tell me they couldn't stand it, and then i'd have complete strangers walk right up to me in the street and literally be smelling my skin...

^ You should definitely bite the bullet then ;) That 'oh so me' fragrance just doesn't come along very often ... I've been ordering from fragrancenet. Two orders, no problems ... but maybe you can also find it locally at a discount place.

Coco Mademoiselle (: I would love Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf though - a little too expensive for me!

I used to be a Coco Chanel Mademoiselle girl, but now I think I've moved on to Chance.

mine isn't any big brands but DKNY Be Delicious Green Apple. Really refreshing and i love it loads!

as it's finally warm here, i broke out my summer frags!

- Bulgari L'Eau Parfumee au The Vert - for the clean yet sophisticated feel
- Clinique Happy for Men - the orange notes in the beginning really make me... well, happy
- ck One Summer 2007 (i think...) - exotic fruits, and a wonderfully warm, sunkissed smelling drydown.
