I rotate a few - I wear a light vanila/lemon scent during the day..
I "rotate" as well one of my everyday perfumes is a vanilla/lemon scent as well..Intuition by Estee Lauder. :flower:
Most people might not categorize it as a vanilla scent..but thats how it smells on me for some weird reason despite the notes being: Mandarin, Bergamot, Grapefruit, Fresh Green Garden, Gardenia Petal, Freesia, Chinese Rhododendron.

i tend to go for more traditional parfumeurs (when i am looking for a new one) such as ANNICK GOUTTAL and L'ARTISAN PARFUMEUR etc. they do great natural scents and are rare
 some of ANNICK GOUTTAL perfumes.

Has anyone had a chance to smell the new McQueen Kingdom scent?
Yes I think its one of the most interesting new (well not so new anymore..) scents on the market these days. Usually I'd go for more girly perfume scents...but the strong peppery basenotes are really intriguing. and as Lena mentioned the bottle is gorgeous

I have smeeled the new Mcqueen fragrance. It smells exactly like angel. Its a little to sweet I think.
I dislike Angel so much (gag reflex)..and I don't think Kingdom smells anything like it.

If its humid (which it rarely is in Denmark) or I go on some tropical vacation I allways wear Hermes Hiris..it's floral..but not overtly sweet..more like a dry floral which suits me in that kind of weather. I was kind of surprised to learn that it is meant as a unisex perfume. The top notes are: Orange blossom, rose, coriander seed, heart notes:White iris, black iris, cedarwood and base notes:Vanilla, ambrette seed, almond wood

I use Coco Chanel (the old one..not Mademoiselle) in winter/fall but only when going out at night I'd never wear it during the day or in spring or summer I just find it too strong.

I love Baby Touch by Burberry its so not-in-your-face it's notes are: citrus fruit rind, fresh wild mint and rhubarb jelly blended with orange blossom petals, jasmine, lily of the valley and base notes of tree moss, vanilla, and milk.

But the perfume I get most "what are you wearing"'s for is Cabotine by Grès it's a floral perfume with notes of Citrus, Rare Ginger Lily, Iris, Tuberose, Ylang-Ylang.

i'm definitely eclectic !
some of my favorites are:

givenchy / l'instant de guerlain
ralph lauren / romance
kenzo / flower {parfum}

I'm looking for a signature perfume, too. I also like vanilla/foody scents.

Lately I've just been using body sprays, like Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar and Coconut Lime Verbena (I don't normally go for citrus/fresh notes, but the coconut balances out the crispness of the lime and makes me smell like a margarita). The sprays are fine for going to class and stuff, but I'm looking for a real perfume for special occasions. :flower:

Hey HBoogie,

If you want to try out a new foody/vanilla signature scent I've got a few suggestions. If you are used to your basic vanilla body spray, these two may be a little intense, but I still think you'd like them.

The first I would suggest trying is Dinner by Bobo. It's a lovely mix of warm foody spices like cardamom and cumin, vanilla and a sexy smoky incense accord.

The second I'd suggest is Goth Rosary’s Vanilla Hell. AntiSally markets her fragrances to the gothic world, but most of her fragrances are mainstream enough for anyone to wear. Vanilla Hell smells like a slightly smoky toasted marshmallow on a graham cracker. You can check them out and even sample them for very little $ at gothrosary.com.

Well, good luck in your search for a signature scent. If you have any questions please ask. Fragrance is my passion.

I almost forgot to list my signature scents. I have a load of fragrances but the two I like most in the summer are Frederic Malle En Passant and Hermes Un Jardin en Méditerranée. And in the winter, Costume National Scent Intense and Comme des Garcons 2.

I tried a few F. Malle fragrances and the winners are En Passant, Musc Ravageur and Vetiver Extraordinaire. EP is very light, floral, dreamy, like a creamy cloud of white dust of a flower. Very lazy scent:-) this one is made by Olivia Giacobetti, who makes super light perfumes. She is behind paris Iunx, and Hiris for Hermes.

MR is all about musc at the extreme, sweet, animal, rugged, most daringly "cow-y":-)) VE is very complexed vetiver scent. Dark, smoky, wet and piney like the air of a forest at the storm, but then dries down a very light, very refreshing, a bit old-fashioned, after the rain scent.

I also tried Iris Poudre (not very powdery to me tho) and Lys Méditerranée (strong, acid lily:-) But the three above are my fav.

You can see all the perfumes here

Thanks! I'm looking for a new perfume for my wife, to replace La Petite Cherrie by Annick Goutal (although I think it's become such a perennial favorite that I might just get another bottle). Do you think En Passant will work?

One more thing, ngth. Have you smelled Floret by Antonia's Flowers?

If so, how would En Passant compare? Thanks :flower:

I am sorry I don't know the other scents, Faust:-) But En Passant is a "bluring" scent with white liliac, rather than lily of the valley and tuberose (as in Floret). I think that tuberose could be a bit too sweet and strong, but floral scents are very dependable on one's skin.

If the AG is fruity (peach) and daringly sweet (vanilla), as the description on her page, it will be compl. different from En Passant.

Barneys has FM. Just give it a try, Faust:-)

Pause at the edge of a garden in springtime and breathe in fragrant lilac whipped by the wind and you get… EN PASSANT Olivia Giacobetti's "impressionistic" fragrance plays with one simple note - white lilac - captured at an instant in time. The composition glorifies this scent from nature and marries it to watery notes, orange tree leaves, cucumber and wheat. Radiant and serene.
