Yves Saint Laurent F/W 08.09 Paris

^ I have to agree.

I mean, I was never head over heels for what he did early on, it was a little fussy for me, but this new stuff he's doing just isn't working for me. I'd say he peaked with f/w 07.
This is all so tortured, painfully avant garde instead of just being what it's meant to be.

I know its being praised and all and some of the clothes are beautiful , but I think in order to win accolades (since anything mimimalistic now is cool apparently) but this show portrays women as emotionless robots , and isnt the ysl woman about a strong woman but one with emotions and a french sensiblity, pilati had that in his earlier collections but lost it along the way , but ironically his mens line was full of it. The YSL womens lie , I have to say , is not a patch on his YSL mens line, the man cuts the most coolest blazers and sexy nonchalant pants ( he was wearing them at the end of this show) .
so he needs stick to that romantic tailoring he has and for the love of god , make some flattering pants !!!

I love the styling with the hair and make-up (but I admit I have a weak spot for a black/dark lip)

some pieces i love, others i don't.
not going to lie, though, i'm insanely crazy about the hair/make-up/accessories!

I hate the hair. It's such a gimmick. Aside from that, this collection is outstanding.

In a relatively disappointing 2008 f/w background this collection is quite good.

more and more i look at this....
more and more I feel Pilati is a genius for YSL!!!!
Don't let him go!

i like some of this, it seems to be classic with an edge

but those shoes....:( i really don't like that light blue jacket at the end, it might work with an entirely different outfit...but i felt pretty much :yuk: when i saw it

This is a perfect fall collection!Love the shades of brown in the clothes though i am not a fan of those sunglasses :)

I find Stefano's efforts so far removed from the spirit of YSL...
I haven't been completely sold on a collection since his debut...
Everything since, imho, has been a rehash of ideas from varying designers...
No continuity either - this srsly lacks relevance and refinement, imo..
Yves Saint Laurent is sensible yet provocative refinement...
This is not.

Dissect the intriguing styling and all that is left is
hideous clothes...

its ironic eventhough , his collections recieve rave reviews , it a total loss makng brand , and with the recession now , I wonder how it will fare , because most of his clothes though pretty in parts , are over priced and not very flattering .

New design for the YSL stores

Stefano's design for the new YSL store, inspired by Opium

Awesome!

fashion forward.. edgy.. yet very, very wearable.. what more can anyone ask for?

That new boutique is insanely dated looking. That colors should never be used in interior design.

I love it. Even the hair cuts. It seems comfortable and familiar to me for some reason.

very UN-saint laurent boutique... colours are terrible really! how is that anything similar to the beautiful opium bottle?

The boutique is not that great...once again, Stefano is trying to be overly contemporary and overly cutting edge...Stefano...go back to ruffles and refinery, you were SO good at it.
