love the collection even though for the most part i hate hate hate feathers.
anyone else feeling a little blade runner with the nostalgic-y futuristic hair?
 
Call me fickle (I'll admit it) but if I could edit out some of the pink/purple pieces midway and the rainbow prints I'd actually quite like this.

It is slightly Blade Runner (seems a little strange to go futuristic now, but I love Blade Runner, so I'll allow it) in the sharp tailoring, peaked shoulders and slightly 40s feel.

Love the first section of grey, red and black, very impactful and pitch perfect.

Like I said, if I could edit out the pieces that don't quite do it for me and make it more concise, I'd love it.

I still do dislike how obviously similar some of the pieces are to past pieces from him, it's not quite the same as if he were to rethink past themes/ideas, but I'll admit it and say that with time to process it, it's not as infuriating as it was before.

As for the feathers, I love them myself, I usually do. I'm pretty sure that birds aren't actually killed for the feathers, even the pieces that look like a wingspan are most likely arranged that way on some sort of solid structure to look like a wing. Like I said, I'm pretty sure that the feathers are either plucked or just collected as the fall off.

I love McQueen but i agree that it seems like a greatest hits.
the birds (hopefully no ugly bird feather shoes this time), the butterflies, cuts/styles of dress the same as from his egyptian theme collection and the lace/black designs.

me too. i mean, i don't like those horrible maribou feather boudior stuff, but i love how mcqueen uses feathers. Really, I just find birds so aesthetically appealing in general. I have jewelry with birds on it and i am always drawn to art with birds.

maybe that is why i like mcqueen so much
 
^yes they are, the whole show is dedicated to her, even the venue smelled like her, because they gave a bottle of Isabella´s perfume as a gift and that´s also the reason of why the pieces are so similar to past collections, they are actually inspired on pieces Isabella owned.

minus the usage of feathers , a lot of this is really beautiful. He and balenciaga were thinking on similar lines with armory ,I think mcqueen did a better job , his dresses exalt the female form and sooo sexy. What women might be wearing in 2042 perhaps?

I adore the shape of the shoes. And I love the illusion of lacey knee highs as well. Can't wait to see the rest of the details ^_^
