Asian Faces In High Fashion

Layla Ong is in Paris as well, but I assume she is there for the Gucci show.

Gao Jie will be there for Gucci too. And Mae Mei lives in France, and taking off... see if she shows up.

Sora is leaving for LV? Hoyeon's probably there already.

Will Jing have her visa straighten out or she'll be MIA.

Lakshmi Menon has Prada campaign.

Where did you get this info from? That's pretty big news.

It was one of the recent campaigns released. Check the Prada threads in ad campaigns. (Sorry can’t be better help, prada ads so confusing these days)

It’s the prada special project

That’s an advertorial,not a campaign

Counted eight Asian at Dior...

Chu Wong
Jing Wen
Ting Chen
Jiali Zhao
Cong He
Chunjie Liu

Surprise, surprise!

Very happy with the lineup of girls at Dior.
Glad to see Jing Wen has sorted out her Visa issues.

I see Heejung is in Hoyeon's stories, so I guess she will be doing Louis Vuitton.

Surprise, surprise!

Completely shocked that Michelle Lee decided to stop promoting self hate.

Hyunji Shin is also in Paris.
Hoping for a repeat booking of Louis Vuitton.

Louis Vuitton Cruse 2019
Jing Wen
Hyunji Shin
Hoyeon Jung
Heejung Park
Jiali Zhao
Sora Choi

Basically the same cast as F/W 18 + Jing (who most likely only missed the last show because of Visa issues)

Was hoping to see a couple newer asian faces, but still not too bad.

We got an Asian fronting Max Mara F/W 18 according to this comment:
Are we absolutely certain this is an official Max Mara advertising campaign? I've just received the new issue of British Harper's Bazaar and inside there is a new Max Mara campaign with an Asian model in the studio (think it's Fei Fei Sun) which looks more like the previous MM campaigns we've had.

Agreed. Would've been funner and interesting to see a new face making her runway debut at LV Cruise. Just one girl. Guess Jiali and Hyunji are in that position at the moment so to speak.

And have to say Jing was just dynamite with her much needed presence. She's just utterly perfect for the brand w/ MAS's touch. Glad she made it.

Out of the five shows Gucci will probably have the more unpredictable cast. Should the CD step it up and be consistent regardless of the collection theme/place of show? Or does that even matter/have anything to do with it... depends.

As I know, it is the first fashion editorial features asian model in Vogue.

The first Japanese model to work with a French fashion house, model Hiroko Matsumoto-Berghauer is an iconic face and rose to fame in the 60s. She moved to Paris after she met fashion designer Pierre Cardin in Tokyo, who subsequently used her as his muse for many years. Also appearing in Vogue and as the face of Nina Ricci, Hiroko retired as a model in 1967, but later tried her hand at acting, appearing in François Truffaut's Bed and Board, where her character wore a wardrobe by Japanese designer Hanae Mori.

^ Such a dope post! Love it. It's great to have access to the archive vault at Vogue. They should make it free again, because that'd be great for research and just a whole lot of fun to reference the past.

Assuming you're gonna post more, which is awesome and would be insightful to know more historical moments regarding Asian faces.

Thanks for contributing much appreciated. :flower:
