"Carrot" Jeans

I saw a guy on the subway today, he was wearing a gray skinny jeans/pants (it looks kind of velvetee) with low crotch, but the pants do not have all those dramatic gathering. Is it the same style? Any one know where i can find some thing like that?

well.. japan certainly you could try to get ur hands on some. i know there are pretty much fairly unknown brands who have (or had) this sort of pants. anyone knows? is it maybe already on it's way back in japan?

i like it. i 'think' i have a pair i bought in hongkong a few years ago. will search for it later.

yeah i've seen a lot of teens in hongkong with this type of pants. i think it would look best on skinny people.

Shoot, man, I just accidentally made a pair of pants like this. Let's just say that I am planning extensive alterations to the hip and thigh area of these jeans, because quite frankly, they look ridiculous.

If you like the look, more power to you, but I know that for myself, it is not working. I cut 'em looser in the thigh and skinny at the calf in order that they would be practical to wear on a bicycle (stay out of the chain, but leave plenty of ease for movement) but they looked too weird even for me!

im looking for some of these 'carrot' style jeans but as you said, in a minimalist kind of way... im assuming if i went to tokyo id have no problem but what about london or ebay maybe...? what should i be searching for?

I think they are a good idea but as long as they are not extreme. Tapered legs yet with slightly more space in the crotch would suit boys more surely?

They will work for those who are edgy (or skinny)enough to not care that these are completely unflattering.

I haven't been too fond of this new style up until post #105 where gone_dotty posted the denim birds interpretation of the pant, the narrow baggy. I think I could see myself in that particular pair.

i have two styles of these pants..in jersey though,

what are these "carrot" pants. i've always called them "sarouel", which i'm pretty sure is the right way to call them.

they're derived from an indian garment, those draped pants with a low crotch...

last year i've been looking around to find some carrot pants and when reading this japanese magazine i ran into this guy, whoms pants pictured what i was looking for. to give people an idea how carrot pants can be worn, i quickly and badly scanned the picture

i got the pants, though if anyone knows a good (japanese) brand..

i can remember both the carrot and the sarouel style being super huge in the 80s. everybody was just looking fat in their carrot jeans, even the super skinny girls, b/c the pants were not only wide in the thigh area and tapered at the calves but also high waisted. even nadja-superlegs-auermann couldn't have pulled these off...
sarouels were cute, though. like them still. i'd love to have a pair in an ultra soft, light weight denim.
