Sebastiana said:^ Someone who's really tacky. In the US we'd probably call them white trash. You can read the wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chav
Harumi said:^Yep. White trash really is an American phenomenon which embrace both the country-side rednecks and the trailer park residents.
The British chavs are mostly urban or suburban. They do not have that 'small town' flavour the White trash has.
Also, Chelsy is nowhere near as bad as Britney. For all her bimbo attire, she has yet to display any moral corruption.
Is that so? Based on polls, media coverage (which is driven by public demand, I gather) and the tone of articles, Kate seems well loved. I mean, William was absolutely trashed for leaving her (even on the BBC) and the whole British press was lobbying for her canonisation. Chelsy, on the other hand, gets the bottom coner of a cover once in a blue moon and most of the time it's to illustrate an article about Harry boozing or kissing other girls...Meg said:To me, Chelsy is much more popular with the British public than Kate ever was. I mean sure in The Sun and stuff they liked Kate but if you talked to people on the street......
I must disagree with you again. There is no excuses for tackiness, climatic or otherwise. However in recent times her style has improved from hopeless to something more generic/trendy.I agree that Chelsy dresses her age and also appropriate for where she lives (ie in a warmer climate)
I know you did not. I didn't implie that.I didn't say Chelsy was white trash, I said Britney was. Just stating my opinion and not comparing the two![]()

Harumi said:^Humm... just re-read my post and realised I sounded EXTRA-pompous. Sorry about that...
I agree about the first sentence. Chelsy seems more like the average Jane on the street while the image Kate presents fits in more with our idea of the British Royal Family.Lina5 said:I would say that generally probably more people can or could imagine Kate in Buckingham Palace.
But if you look at her thread at this forum it is filled with comments that are not just critics, but pure hate. I mean there are many that are ready to turn every single thing into something bad. I have never seen such hate directed towards Chelsy from forum posters. I also based this opinion on one royal forum that I visit, because they are usually the first to get photos.
Now I don´t see how one can say so many bad things about someone who has never even spoken to the press..
