Good stuff. I bet it would have been awesome to attned that show, or, better yet, be one of the models in it!!

Does anyone know what they are saying in French during the second part of the collection?

Five years of French and I only picked up about three words. It's a sewing lesson by Christian Dior and a reporter talking about the innovation of his designs. Apparently it also says that Dior wanted to be an architect and how that translates to his work.

Hehe...that's how I am with Spanish. Thanks for filling me in on what that was.

The show was unbelievable. It gave me goosebumps.

I know what you mean about goosebumps :woot:
The opening of the show was seriously breath taking, to have been there must of been amazing. Erin opened the show with such confidence and poise, I am so happy she opened it, he could of easily had someone more high profile.
I loved how it was done in pieces and how they were all unique, and the twirling 'new look' girls!!
And at the end, when they all walked out, Erin seemed to glide down the runway.
I don't think the show could of been any better!!

I LOVED the opening of this show. It reminded me of the movie "Sleepy Hollow" with Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci.

The gowns were stunning, and I was glad to see both Linda and Naomi on the same show!

Speaking of models... did anyone notice if Laetitia Casta was featured on this show? One of the models certainly did resemble her, and I did notice that this model was also shorter and curvier than the rest of the girls.

Well, whoever that model was, she sure was beautiful. Laetitia is one of my favorites and I hope she starts to pick up more modeling gigs aside from her contract with L'Oreal.

Ciao

I was just reviewing it and in the Catherinettes section I saw more Peruvian references..

The hat is definately, plus the proportions. What the hell are Catherinettes anyway?

According to Vogue UK, Catherine was the patron saint of seamstresses and single women, so the festival of Saint Catherine was a very important day at the Dior atelier....green and yellow, I'm guessing, were Saint Catherine's colors.

She wasn't listed as one of the models...I'm not sure who you saw but if you want to scroll through the show here it will tell you who each model is.

I thought Erin was a great opener to the show, too. I also loved seeing Shalom Harlow, I thought she looked gorgeous and moved beautifully.

^ Agree about Erin and Shalom

Shalom and Kirsty worked that Hollywood section for all it was worth.

i agree with you in almost everything you´ve said, but! do you really consider Erin O´connor a low profile model  ??

This show its so amazing, i love the peruvian dancers and the last section (Alek Week reminded me a shadow in the video so elegant)

Everything is so wonderful!!! I love all the pieces...well the hollywood section was kinda too versace...but everything else is superior to all the other couture shows this season!

Well she's not exactly a household name or anything.

*Shrugs.

this day and age almost no models are except for Naoimi Campbell and Kate Moss.

i sooo love it all!!!

and i think it´s so wearable at the same time, take away the corset taht make your hips look a bit bigger, or shout i say, exchange it for a corset with normal ones, and there you have it, john is becoming increasingly wearable but on his own terms, wich i absolutelly adore!!, this collection however to me was by far much better than the spring summer couture, than was lacking on energy, the fun thing is that on that collection there were so many different versions of each idea on the three sections and now there were very few of each other but so many more to watch, and the set was dream come true, my favourite section so far is the first one, i think is the one that matches the best with the set too, creepy cementeries and ladies can be so beautiful, and not at all scary!

All of the opening and closing looks are WONDERFUL... but some of the stuff in between.. is just frightening....

Here's how I would describe this collection... 'Well, I crawled up to my attack at midnight with my kid brother, and we pulled out great-grandma's old couture from the trunk..."

It really falls in with the whole dark mood... I love the idea of the collection, at least.. This is my favorite look.. Alex looks great

After watching the video I appreciate this collection a bit more. The nude dresses are even more amazing than I thought and the more literal Peru inspired section was not as gimmicky as I thought and in fact was quite nice.
