although this collection may be completely derivative and mostly unwearable, i really think that this is just what the couture needs. no one is creating clothes this grand AT ALL in fashion these days. couture has so rarely been about what people actually wear and about fantasy.
yes, some of this is pure costume, but some of what chanel puts out is purely archival. there needs to be this balance in the couture. my only fear is that with this grand of a presentation for the couture and his outstanding menswear show...what does spring/summer hold for the ready to wear. i hope it doesn't suffer as badly as fall/winter did.![]()
