chicgarcon, I don't know well about cdiem footwear from its latter period when wjk was involved,
I mean those models after the major change of design and construction of the sole.
but, before that, up to that time, most of the models had come in a 40 which could fit a normal 39 - 39.5 foot. and mostly it was the smallest size for men, if I remember rightly.

personally I'd choose a very dry season for the wash and dry the shirt on a stand like the one below in the shade by the ventilator, with the shirt twisted ( or folded finely and complicatedly or crumpled into a ball and bound up ).
