@ snowqueen I have seen so many 'heel' appropriations of desert boots, it's making me think they are going to become the next combat boot or gladiator shoes (unfortunately) amongst all of those teen hipsters (as you know they all became heels as well)
I don't find them unattractive, but it does seem like they become over done?
I love these boots! I just realized I seriously need a pair!
Those who own them, are the these boots warm? Can I get them for winter or is it a bad idea cause my feet will freeze?
I'd like to know too^. Also a lot of them seem to be made of suede. I wore blue suede shoes when I was a kid and I remember it turning black when I wore it in the rain, if maybe the dye ran out. And it was also not soft and furry anymore after. Does anyone know if it can be 'revived'?
I've been looking for a good pair of desert boots for a while now but can never really get over how I would wear them with my wardrobe. Most of the examples i've seen online tend to style these (for guys) in a very outdoorsy/woodsman way and I think i'll need to see a few more looks with sleeker styling to sell me on these completely. Right now i'm really liking Opening Ceremony's M13 in black suede with the wood/rubber heel.
well originally they were made to resemble what soldiers wore when fighting in Northern Africa during WWII. So not the best cold weather gear. Some brands do release wool and leather versions like Opening Ceremony mentioned earlier.
Wow, those YMC blue pony hair boots are killer! Those are a desert boot I can believe in.
I was just going to write about how these are the only boots I see on men in the city nowadays along with the modern pompadour and rolled dark denim jeans. The look is tired. Stylish, but trite. I think they're trendier than they are classic.
