Designer & Fashion Insiders Behavior (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

I happen to have seen the Gif, which is far worse than the images posted in that article. Truth be told I could only excuse this ignorance if they're not really exposed to Asian people. And the fact that these people use Google at least once a day, probably are more in touch with the global fashion scene than the average Brazilian, and still carry out such crap is frankly inexcusable.

^^^ Absolutely, Benn.

There are absolutely no excuses for their ignorance since it's the responsibility of these people working in a high profile publication to be supposedly in tune with the international etiquettes of the world. These aren't everyday Brazilians...

I kind of love it when these kinds of incidents reveal just how the fashion industry is full of morons-- despite their expensive exposure to the rest of the modern world. (Did no one in that group think that was a bad idea LOL)

Isn’t there a part of their brains that should know instinctively that imitating “Asian eyes" with that gesture is insensitive— regardless of being ignorant to the cultural history of such mockery of Asians???? Are they really that dumb? It’s like those idiots in Italy that put on Blackface and dress as “ African slaves” for that stupid party… Basic common sense should immediately tell you that such gestures are offensive, hurtful and insulting to a race of people.

Fashion people can be so dumb...

^
He looks ridiculous, give him a few years and he will look like Donatella.

Oh my god, he clung to the Kardashians so hard that he's becoming one of them!

And why the hell is he hanging around the VS backstage and taking pictures with the models? Are his Balmain days over?

he did it last year, too. seems like he's a fan of the show (and models). If you watched the show, they had this little segment where they showed the girls as crossover models doing HF work and most of the footage was from Balmain LOL

I remember last year (or was it two years ago?) he filmed videos backstage with the VS girls for 10 magazine's youtube channel. Maybe he was doing it again this year.

Yes, there's some form of collaboration. Sophia teased something along that line on her IG.

But wow at this new development! I mean, he wasn't that bad looking to begin with, but those lips??? What brought this on?

he was far from 'not bad looking' imo. he was very cute. and now I can picture him looking like that NYC socialite with all the plastic surgery in the future. the Kardashians ruin everything they touch.

Everytime I see somebody with this kind of hilarious transformation of the face I ask myself if they had this beauty standard to begin with or if it develops in the process. Or if this IS even their concept of beauty or just something that happens while they think they could get rid of their self insecurities with the next step in beauty surgery but it never happens so they just go on.

 Do you really think so????? His features look far too feminine imo. Much like a Rupaul contestant (no malice intended!). But, different strokes...

haha I always think like that too, but I feel it's like when you're drawing a face and get overly ambitious ("I should make the nose thinner") or critical ("let's erase and redo the eyelid").. once you modify one little thing, other features start to look a little crooked so you have to redo them too... and before you know it you're drawing jocelyn wildenstein...

I was thinking buccal pad removal but I think he's just another bad case of contouring, it's like he lost interest at minute 7:00 (out of 12:00) of the youtube tutorial.. I think mascara was coming in at 9:15.

oh you are so shady! HAHAHAHA. prior to this, I wouldn't have a problem dating him.

That talk by James Scully just nails the vacuous egotistical state of mental illness that the fashion industry is currently experiencing. And I'm glad he called out Anna W, she's responsible for the disposable model and her latest offence of trying to legitimize Kanye lands her another boot to the head.

His "new look" is crazy. I have been noticing his facw changing and it is not going in a good direction.

His picture is clearly photoshopped. You can see it in the neck area. Whoever did it should never work for a magazine

The neck might be, but the lips aren't.
Here's a mess from earlier this year i think.

I'm really stretching what constitutes as designer drama, but I saw this:

Designer Elie Tahari gets into boutique brawl
Fashion designer Elie Tahari shouted obscenities and brawled with a security guard at the Intermix store on Madison Avenue, as other customers cowered in fear.

Tahari and his ex-wife, Rory, were taking photos of the clothing in the shop on Saturday when a security guard asked him to stop and to leave the premises, a witness told me.

Pamela Mitchell, the longtime girlfriend of real estate developer Harry Dubin, said the Iranian-Israeli designer started yelling, “Don’t touch me! F—k you! I want your name!”

The two men got into a shoving match and crashed into a full-length mirror. Soon five police officers arrived.

“Little girls and their mothers were hiding in the dressing room crying,” Mitchell said.

Another source said Tahari was injured in the fracas, that no arrests were made and that there is video of the brawl.

Through a representative, Tahari declined to comment, as did a spokesperson for Intermix.

The Post reported in 2012 that the quick-tempered designer had purged his company of nearly all his top executives, and used an ex-Israeli army officer to do the firings.

Tahari was also said to look at employees’ e-mails. “He goes through these periods where he thinks everybody’s out to get him,” said one former exec.

Tahari might have been photographing Intermix clothes so he could copy them. The ex-staffer told me: “He’d always say, ‘If you can’t make it, steal it.’”

The best part: 'little girls and their mothers were hiding in the dressing room crying'...
Lol!!!! I know it's no laughing matter, but it's still somewhat comical. The little girls I can understand, but why would the mothers weep?

Either some Iranians (first Maxim's Biglari, and now Tahari) are working overtime to taint their nation's public image, or PageSix is hell bent on demonising these people at every chance they get. Take your pick!

I'm still trying to get pass the 'taking photos of clothing at Intermix' part
