Did Kristen Stewart diss Twilight?

Quite honestly, I feel bad for her. Before the Twilight mega-hype all she really acted in were independent movies, and it seemed she liked it that way.

Perez hates her because, he's "in Love" with Robert Pattinson. He does Exactly the same thing to that girlfriend of that Disney kid. He has to be the one most mysogynistic man in the media.

But anyway, back on topic, the producers have been pimping Rob and Kristen like I've never seen any actors being pimped, she's not exactly the most eloquent of persons so I'm not surprised that what comes out doesn't sound very polite.
The Twilight fandom is one of the scariest fandoms around, I'm not surprised she's fed up with it all, I would be too.

i totally agree. That turd can't get a man (or one that he wants) so he has to take it out on the women who could at least get close to one.
As for Twilight fans, I have three words: nuttymadam on youtube
SCARES ME

The movie wasn't meant to be big

I don´t get this statement at all. If it´s a movie based on a best selling book, how is not supposed to be big? Didn´t they know that all the girls that bought the books would end up on the cinema? (plus all the new fans)
Perhaps they didn´t know it will be THIS big but c´mon! it wasn´t an indie script either

bahahaha...she scares the sh*t out of me!!!! as do the twihards and twimoms, just plain scary
also agree on perez

koko: it was a bestselling book, but when you look at the script/books it has obvious flaws and if i had read the books i would have NEVER expected the general public to get into it this much. and i haven't read a really good review of the movie and it's still enormously successful. i guess people thought it was more for the fans of the books, a big but exclusive fanbase...the PR-team should earn an oscar for what they did, seriously!

^^^plus i didnt know what the heck twilight was until i came across THE nuttymadam. she's a star in my household

I think there were 3 things that should've tipped people off that this was no indie film:

1. it's based on a New York Times bestselling novel. Both Twilight and New Moon were NYT bestsellers since 2005/2006, indicating it had an established fanbase already and wasn't completely unknown.

2. the budget for the film was $37 million. let's look at the budgets of other indies: Juno - $6.5 million. Napoleon Dynamite - $400,000. Donnie Darko - $4.5 million. Thirteen - $2 million. In the Land of Women - $10.5 million. Kristen has been doing indie films for how long and she didn't realize this vampire film was getting WAY more money than indies usually get? Not to mention that her salary for this film was $2 million, which is about 1/2 the budgets of the indies listed above. I'm betting she never got close to $2 million for any of her other indie films, another tip-off. Big budgets = commercial film, not indie. And obviously, commercial means fame/attention.

3. they had to sign on for 2 more sequels. I've never heard of indie films with clauses for sequels. With indies, you don't even know if the first film will get made/distributed. In commercial films, there is always clauses for sequels because they are pretty certain the first will do well and lead to more, which is why they want to secure the actors.

I don't think her age is any excuse for her behavior either. She is 18, soon to be 19 - not 12. Most adults (which she is) know not to bite the hand that feeds them. Sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do - that's part of life because no job is perfect. Not to mention she's had 6 years to watch/observe other actors around her give interviews to see how they conduct themselves (Jodie Foster, Adam Brody, Emile Hirsch...).

Anyway, her attitude is starting to get noticed. I just saw a youtube clip discussing her Nylon interview + Dad's quote. The guy commented "the a$$hole doesn't fall far from the tree."

Yeah I like that she isn't your typical fame wh*re actress, but I think she should be more professional, its not a matter of liking your movie or not, but you have a professional obligation to the movie you are in, there are many many people involved on the project and they have a lot at stake

I mean sometimes you can totally tell Robert thinks the whole franchise is a bit ridiculous but he understands its a business and he plays the part.

Its a smart move for Kristen to just do these movies, get the stability in the industry and name recognition and then do more select projects on the side, she can be totally choosy with her other roles now she has this franchise in the bag.

I meant that it wasnt meant to be as big as it got.
i once stumbled upon Kellan's answer to question why he picked the role?
he answered it (without reading the actual book:( i wanted something that had huge fan base.

it's not like they signed the contract without talking to their close ones and those in industry. judging from the pr, this is a really thought up project and i think it sure wasn't being made from day to day AFTER they realised they/producers got it right.

as for her dad's quote, he cited kristen. the use of words points to it. it does not matter what you and i think about her not going to oscars (which of corse isn't IT for her, just for now), she nor her family (which i esp.don't get cus her father is longer in industry then her) shouldn't be giving statements to public like this.

The reality is that she has went on the record saying she wanted this part and pushed hard for it. It was inevitable that it would come along with a rabid fanbase...she was a nobody before and over night she became a somebody. It was obviously jarring but I don't think she is ungrateful, she just seems to be apathetic about everything. She's 18, she still has a lot of growing up to do...

Twilight was no indie film. K-Stew and the rest of the actors knew it. I hate when she and Rob say "we never thought this would be so big". That's complete BS. Rob has repeatedly said he took the film because he was out of work, he knew he had a big paycheck coming ($2 million) and knew signing that contract guaranteed him financial stability for a good while. Some of the other actors have also mentioned what great chance Twilight was for them... of course they knew it would blow up, they'd make sequels and bam, instant fame.

All the agents and managers knew this was no little project. I've never read these books and months before the film was even made, I knew fans of the books who were already choosing who they'd like to get casted. While I respect Kristen as an actress, I think she just needs to learn how to deal with the media better. In all honesty, I just think her team didn't prepare her for the media circus Twilight was going to be. A lot of people say Rob was just more charming in his statements, but I don't think that was it. I think his PR made him aware of what was coming and so he dealt with it better.

I think New Moon will be better for her. She knows what to expect and she'll be better prepared.

2 millions??? that's total for all 3 movies or for each one he gets 2 mil?? O_o that's a lot of money for an actor that's given a big break and a way to fame, cus he wasn't as popular before as he is now...

Rob and Kristen got $2 million solely for Twilight. It's reported Kristen will be paid $12 million plus a cut of the profits for New Moon. I imagine the same goes for Rob, if not more.

that much money? dear god! 2 mill. and she can't keep her mouth shut sometimes?

sorry, but i had no idea how much they're being paid and this only, IMO, puts KStew in annoying situation cus she's being really "ungrateful". if they approached to her as a professional and the salary obviously proves that, than she really should the same to them (summit).

They were both lucky to get such big paychecks for this film, Shia LaBeouf got $500,000 for his breakout role in Transformers.

pretty good pay check for people who arent really that known in Hollywood yet.

WOW.

$2 million?!

Did Daniel Radcliffe even get paid THAT much for the first HP movie?

I feel like Rob really earned his money, Kristen didn't do half the promo he did. I mean he even did mall tours, no one has a done a mall tour since the kids from 90210 back in the 90's! LOL

That's interesting. I find it hard to believe that they got $2 million and Shia only got that. Twilight compaired to Transformers. I just can't believe it. Dreamworks has way more money than Summit. Am I missing something.

I swear I read somewhere Rob denied that he got $2 million and he has also said the $12 million fee is false. He could be lying out of his a** for all we know as it's none of our business but still.

Kristen did do some as well but not as many. Personally I thought it was way over the top and I hope they don't do it for NM promotion. It seems tacky.
