looks fine, arturo...sorry to hear you have to part with them.

But as soon as you get the money, you're back on the market for all the hot classic jeans from Follow Me/Luster/Strip :woot:

Exactly:lol:
:heart:

Definitely not 30. All the size 30 DH jeans i've tried fit significantly more snug than even a 31, even in the 21 cm category. From pics I've seen of Jude wearing those jeans at events and what not, they look fairly baggy so I'd say at least a 31...not to mention he isn't THAT thin. That's the part I hate the most about the sizing, it's like a world of difference between 30 and 31...30 is nuthugging and doesn't even let me breathe, while 31 is just loose. I think I'm the worst size to be for this brand of jeans.

edit: here's a better shot of him wearing the jeans at Sky Captain LA premiere:

Really? because I've wondered If i should be 31 or 30, the 32's fit me fine, but they're more like a 31 and they werent tight at all, a bit loose-ish but not that much. Then again I'm not thin, so maybe I'll stick to the sz. 31

I'd definately say that those on Jude are 32s

Well, as graphic as this may sound, I normally do a test when i wear pants...if they're on without a belt, and i pull them down hard: if they can fall down with no resistance, they're too loose to wear without a belt; if they remain intact, that's the right size.

I've never encountered situation b) (the ideal situation) with DH jeans. Don't know why that is.

Any Parisians? I'm making a trip to Paris soon and obviously my first stop would be DH, but I'd like to know what they have at this moment? Similar to New York maybe?

FtB : I was just kidding... how should i know what size Jude wears :P

Jun : After your Paris trip.. would you mind to make a quick update?? Because i'm off to Paris too in... Mid February... could be nice to know what they have of interesting items...

oh ok, don't worry dude i wasn't taking it that seriously...if it seems i have already written too much on this seemingly trivial subject, it's because I have obsessive compulsive disorder, and to make things worse this EXACT subject is one of my greatest pet peeves in life (DH waist sizing inconsistency).

Simply take 10 off the European size to attain the size in inches for chest;

T.46 = 36"
T.44 = 34"

and so forth..

There is 'overlapping', ie, T.44 as well as T.44P, generally Petite sizes have been scaled to accomodate a womens frame, thus narrower shoulders and usually shorter in length when it comes to jackets.

The smallest i've seen is a T.38P (equivalent of a 28" chest, and slimmer still taking into account DH's cut!) smoking jacket in Selfridges a couple of weeks ago, it was absolutely tiny.

Jost, out of curiousity how tall are you? I've got to agree on the Taralis recommendation as i absolutely love his work, too. :flower: (Those in London can check his pieces out at The Pineal Eye).

I´m 1,80m, which is about 5'11"... right?

I usually have a BIG trouble fitting Dior Homme tailored pants, the 19cm slim leg in size 44 looks way too baggy on me, both in the leg and back, where I´ve got by far too much fabric hanging down... The ones I have I usually wear intentionally baggy because they just look misfitted somehow... As for those from Taralis, I tried a pair to see the difference and it basically looked as if it was made especially for me. As for the jackets (from Dior Homme), I could live with a smaller armhole and a slimmer waist, maybe I could fit the petite taille but I couldn´t go down a size in the shoulders, it obviously doesn´t look good if the shoulders stick out of the pads... :yuk:

Do you have any links to pages about Taralis? I'm very interested after hearing you praise the designer and I'd love to take a closer look if they have any japanese resellers.

BTW, I just got my hands on a pair of the black painted denim in size 28. They are absolutely amazing! The fit is much slimmer than recent jeans and the finish/quality is tip top. I love how the paint is reflective/shiny and picks up colours from the surroundings.
They are much more wearable than the pvc coated jean and fits with anything, too bad they are so hard to get your hands on nowaydays, I'd like to have a "back-up"-pair.

style.com featured his S/S 2006 collection, but sadly no close-ups of his clothes... you can get a hint of an idea about his signature jacket in look 3, the double breasted, cropped style with beaded cuffs and epaulettes. The one in look 1 is also very good, it´s cut like an old-fashioned cavalry jacket, cropped and slightly shorter in the back, you can hardly see any details because of the lurex cloth.

There´s a pretty good article about Nicolas in the Octobre issue of Go Go Paris, you can read it here: http://www.gogoparis.com/issue/gogo-oct2005.pdf

Another short feature about Nicolas:

firstview´s pictures from S/S 2005:

You can find out about his japanese stockists on his website, http://www.nicolasandreastaralis.com

He didn´t produce a collection for F/W 2005 though, as he changed his company profile - mainly with production. I spoke with his assistant and she told me that Nicolas basically did most of the graphic designs (show invites, typography and graphic appearance of the Dior Homme label which is pretty much the same as with his own signature line) for Dior Homme as well as the jewelry and detailing on the clothes until Strip... you know, all those small chains and charms on belt buckles, lace-up detail on S/S 2004´s signature motorcycle jacket, tubular chrome beads on drawstrings as well as the zippers with attached cotton cords... these are pretty much a Taralis signature, he´s very insistant on such small details... as you may have seen, there is no such detailing in recent Dior Homme collections.

Oh, and as for now, there´s only a women´s line... guys from sizes 42/petite up to a small 48 (depending on the proportions as his clothes are basically cut like Dior Homme prototypes... VERY tiny armholes, smaller waist, etc.) might be able to fit.

Thanks for the info! He's definentely interesting, I especially liked the first collection which in my eyes was very androgynous and wearable for men. The second collection looks much more feminine although my eye caught a few interesting pieces.

I usually wear size 44 jackets and 28"-29" jeans (I'm 177 cm), so I don't think it's too small for me.
