I don’t know, but for sure he heard it from Gucci HQ managers, but maybe it’s just a rumour. I would say KJ has been considered at least, but I doubt the deal is done. The timing in which this all happened makes you think it might be a possibility, but who knows.

If they want to keep on with the logo and the tacky things, he might be the right choice. If they want to save the brand, it’s already a disaster. But considering Cantino’s way of working, he might be the only “big” name ready for the gig.

I mean after Proenza at Loewe… nothing in this world would surprise me. It is the most random decision I’ve ever heard. Even Wang at Balenciaga made more sense because at least he had some hype at the moment.

In any case, I don't see any Italian name capable of riding that Gucci wild horse. Neither MGC, nor PPP, nor exfendis or expradas.
At this moment, all those names sound derivative.
I would go for a designer from USA. Both Casey Cadwallader and Jeremy Scott put Mugler and Moschino back in the map.
That is exactly what is needed at Gucci, a grand comeback.
The situation is desperate and you need a shock treatment.

It would be great but he was fired from BV.
I don’t think/know if he has mended his relationship with Pinault.

Anna can be an advocate for him as she has been very supportive but unless he has changed his lifestyle, I don’t see him there.

On paper, he is the perfect candidate.
He has a strong aesthetic, an eye for luxury and quality and he makes good clothes for men and women.

That said, galliano for gucci is the correct move. Remember when he had super sexy collections in the early days? I could see his bias cut dressess being a staple at gucci

I would not complain if he is doing Galliano at Gucci, but I am not sure if the new generation will eat it up like they did with Hedi. I wish someone will bring back some tackiness and vulgarities for the brand.

mgc's creative juices are dry dry dry.... she has been copying for several seasons now after she ran out of column/grecian dressess.

EDIT: Dont stone me but what about jeremy scott??? He was doing schiaparelli even before roseberry could draw with his spoon dresses etc etc and all his attempts id consider fashion than costumes. And we are now in a time where over the top luxury is being seen.
