Goyard bags / luggage

that is a factor...customs.........

I've sent bags to France before and it was horrible trying to get through Customs since I always declared the actual value. If I send it through Fedex, although it might be quicker, there could still be issues with Customs because Fedex's custom clearance procedures as done by brokers is not in compliance with the general regulations.

Still waiting for Goyard Paris to get back to me, I know they read my email yesterday. I hope I hadn't said something that offended them.

Yes..I've had to deal with customs in the past....Like you I declared the actual value...I didn't realize Fedex worked in that manor...thanks for the info!!:flower:

I hope they get back to you soon....I hate having to wait....but good things come to those who wait!!!!!!! :D

Yay!! I heard back from Goyard!! I replied again and am trying to figure out the logistics right now. I'm just waiting for the reply on the reply at the moment. I think I'm going to do all my shopping via the Paris store from now on. The price for a Jeanne MM is at least $500 cheaper than buying in the U.S.!

GeminijscHermes, you've used your Goyard for traveling, right? How does it hold up to the wear and tear? The TSA people are incredibly rough with luggages. One time I saw them flung the luggage from one end of the checkpoint to the other.

I've used the bag on 4 flights as a carry on....Thankfully so far the bag is in great shape....Given I've treated it really well and it's not been through a bad TSA situation!! LOL

I have also used the bag as my day to day bag for about 2 months now....

So far so good w/ my lil green Goyard. :)

how resistent is goyard leather? i LOVE LOVE LOVE the white croisiere bag, but am afraid it will get dirty really easily!

Meowmix i think white, in any leather, will sadly show dirt....I can say the canvas is strong much like an LV...

Paris20, since you are also going to get your bag mailed to you and have to send info to the Paris store, are you getting your bag sent to the same address that's on your ID? Reason I ask is I no longer live at the address on my ID and the billing/shipping address on my credit card is not that address either. Just want to figure this out before I proceed with the transaction. I figure it makes more sense to ask a fellow tfs-er before I have to ask them myself:p

Good question, I usually have things delivered to my work. I think it will be fine, you can just explain the situation to Franck.

So in your case, do you fax them copy of your credit card and ID and then tell Franck the address the bag is to be delivered to?

Also, I found out that without the local tax, my bag is going to cost me less than 1000 Euro, so even with the Custom fees (I think the first $800 is free), I'm paying only a little bit over 50% of what I would've paid for in the U.S.. The price difference is huge!

I hope to tell him of my work address when he tells me that the bag is ready. I know what your saying about the Paris prices, my bag with the crown cost about $125 less than the price in the US which does not even include taxes and customation fees). I figure I'm saving at least $300 on my bag. Good deal!

Jeanne MM costs $2090.35 after tax. It costs 970 Euros (around $1252.08) plus Custom fee, which will come to around $1440.70. It's definitely at least $500 cheaper. Ideally I would like to come to Paris to pick it up but I think the plane ticket from LA to Paris is probably going to cost more than $500 at any given time. I remember reading somewhere that someone said there're different variation of the Crown. Do you know anything about that?

I am going to email him back and let him know I want a bag from the stock room, and not one from displayed or had been exchanged. I'm just going to tell him in advance that my bag will have to be sent to another address as opposed to the address on my driver's license since I don't even live there anymore. I hope it won't be an issue because otherwise I won't be able to purchase it. By the way, does he confirm with you once he has received your info? Also, do they charge now or do they charge when the bag is ready?

I asked FrancK to email when when he got my cc info but he didnt. I called my cc company and there was a charge there from Goyard. I know there are a few crown designs but I figure anything is fine with me.

Please post your bag as soon as you get it. I am sure it's going to look absolutely stunning!:woot:

i had two goyard sightings today on the streets of london (other than in my mirror)- secrets out...
What Goyard pieces do you have?

Oh and a couple weeks back I saw a woman carrying a green Okinawa tote with orange stripes on the side. ^_^

Question for all you ladies and gents who had your Goyard bags painted with stripes. Did you get one side or both sides painted?:flower:
