Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows *Warning - Thread WILL Contain Spoilers*

I am straddeling the fence on book 7 at the moment...

It is certainly, from a literary standpoint, one of the stronger books (minus the craplouge). That said, the first half of the book was slower than the first half of the Harry Potter books usually are- and that is pretty damn slow. In the past, while all of the real action was reserved for the last few chapters, in the beginning we at least had qudditch, Hogwarts things, etc. But not so much with this one (save for the silver doe, the cafe, and Godric's Hollow)- might as well been called Harry Potter and the Extended Camping Trip.

The seventh book and fifth movie were both suprisingly dark, dare I say downright eerie.

  That just made my night! hahaha But I agree, it was a little long at that part.
Alright so I know that this book is pretty much going to be cut in half when the movie is made, but I was wondering which parts you would really like to see in the film, no matter their importance to the story. Personally, I would like to see the emotional scenes (aka where the characters cry) just to see if they can pull it off. I know Daniel can because he's done it before, but doesn't Ron sort of go crazy and gets upset when he is stuck in the cell while Hermione is being tortured?

I think Rupert is would kick *** on the difficult Ron scenes (trapped in the Malfoy cellar, fights with Hermione)...

... so, naturally, they'll cut all those things out but put an emphasis on Voldemort's shipping H/HR with that whole horcrux thing.

Hmmm...the thing that bothers me about the HP films is the fact that they take advantage of Dan and Emma's natural chemistry.....and that really throws off the relationship between Ron and Hermione.

I mean...even when they do include scenes with Emma and Rupert, it looks very stuff. I think Emma's just naturally more comfortable with Dan.

Daniel's crying was really uncomfortable in PoA though.

I really want to see the emotional Ron scenes in the movie -- I think Rupert can pull it off, if they let him.

Can we please move on from POA (sorry sorry, this part may sound a bit rude but I don't mean it this way) The boy was fantastic in OOTP and absolutely heart-wrenching when Sirius died. What's important is really his improvement over time....so let's not single out his craptacular moments as an actor.

Though god forbidding, there were many.

I have to agree... I've always gotten the feeling that Dan and Emma get along very well in real life, and that translates to screen, whereas Rupert is sort of distant from their group.

I'm really anxious to see how Rupert handles the Lavender Brown storyline... that should be interesting! He is so shy and resereved.

true, and it kinda sucks because I really like the Ron and Hermione pairing. Honestly I wouldn't mind a really long movie or maybe a two parter like Kill Bill if it means we can see more about the relationships and not just the fight against Voldermort.

I think Dan has stated many times that Emma is his best 'girl' friend. Rupert...well...I think the trio does get on very well but Dan and Emma are more talkative and dynamic while Rupert is very quiet and (I get the sense) more mature.

Background could be the issue as well, though I hope I'm not generalizing classes too much. Rupert comes from a big family and I didn't get the sense that he was very well off while Emma's parents are successful lawyers and Dan's parents are involved (somewhat) in the acting industry.

Either way, I think Dan and Emma are so adorable together ^_^. I really enjoyed that interview the trio did with Moviephone, you can see that all three of them have great chemistry together :)

I loved that interview too... especially how Rupert would rather die than kiss Emma.

And I could see the background thing; I actually thought about that a few years ago. Its even in their accents, Emma and Dan are so posh and Rupert has sort of a cockney tinge (which really just adds to the sexiness in his voice if you ask me :brows:.) Rupert seems to hang out with the Phelps twins quite a bit.

I just watched that on You Tube last night (I got the link from watching Extra's and Dans ep came up - bloody funny everyone should watch it).

Emma's reaction was perfect "great so you would rather die than kiss me" while Dan is laughing and Rupert red faced trying to backtrack what he said.

Oh god, no. When POA came out, I went around imitating his 'HE WAS THEIR FRIEND' around for ages.

At one point, me and my best friend would call each other every night to rehearse that scene, taking turns to imitate Dan :ninja:

But honestly speaking, Dan is talented OUTSIDE of HP. I don't think I've read a single negative review of his performance in Equas, the early reviews for his performance in December Boys have been positive and he really stepped it up in OOTP.

That and I saw him on Extras and thought he was hilarious

 Oh my God! I loved it when Emma asked Dan, "Hey, well you know how everybody has a Disney Princess?" and he's like: :ninja: Then she goes, "Oh, you don't know." The You'd-Rather-Die-Than-Kiss-Me part was hilarious too! :) I love videos of them!

I loved the part where Dan was listing off things they could be as mystical creatures and he was like (to emma) 'You're going to say mermaid, aren't you'
