^the teeth are fine, we can't expect movie stars to go around with crooked teeth; however, hermione's awkward look can still be achieved with proper hair and make-up. i think if emma took the role more seriously and asked the makeup ppl to do her hair properly (instead of asking them to give her pretty curls), critics and fans alike would certainly give emma credit for her effort. that's to say, fans of the books wouldn't complain that emma is just playing emma if she had tried to embrace the character jk rowling brought to life...the 'girl power' element is supposed to be given to ginny weasley. emma's portrayal of hermione totally throws off that balance of realism and reduces other characters in the movies to fill in other roles, imo. seriously, we can't have two 'girl power' type characters in the main roles, can we? it's just not believable for the audience...i may bite my tongue if warners bros. can achieve this in hbp the movie, however.
