Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows *Warning - Thread WILL Contain Spoilers*

Thanks for the link!
and that the epilogue was never written
That's what I feel too.

*Cough* The Harry/Hermione shipper in me was a tad hurt from the book!

*Grabs hold onto a H/Hr shipper! ANYONE with me?*

I wish she had answered this question:
What did Dumbledore see in the mirror of Erised??
I've wanted to know this ever since the first book. We can geuss it was bringing Arina back or something but I wish she gave a definate answer!

Dumbledore saw the same thing Harry did: his own family.

It was in the King's Cross chapter.

^ Yes, that's what I understood also.
The whole H/H thing always seemed so incestuous to me.

It couldn't get any better than Ron and Hermione.

I think this is an appropriate time to post part of a JKR interview from mugglenet.com:

ES: We thought it was clearer than ever that Harry and Ginny are an item and Ron and Hermione - although we think you made it painfully obvious in the first five books -
JKR: [points to herself and whispers] So do I!
ES: What was that?
JKR: [More loudly] Well. so do I! So do I!
[All laugh; Melissa doubles over, hysterical, and may have died.]
ES: Harry/Hermione shippers: delusional!
JKR: Well no, I'm not going to - Emerson, I am not going to say they're delusional! They are still valued members of my readership! I am not going to use the word delusional. I am however, going to say - now I am trusting both of you to do the spoiler thing when you write this up -
[More laughter]
JKR: I will say, that yes, I personally feel - well it's going to be clear once people have read Book 6. I mean, that's it. It's done, isn't it? We know. Yes, we do now know that it's Ron and Hermione. I do feel that I have dropped heavy -
[All crack up]
JKR: - hints. ANVIL-sized, actually, hints, prior to this point. I certainly think even if subtle clues hadn't been picked up by the end of Azkaban, that by the time we hit Krum in Goblet...
But Ron - I had a lot of fun with that in this book. I really enjoyed writing the Ron/Lavender business, and the reason that was enjoyable was Ron up to this point has been quite immature compared to the other two, and he kind of needed to make himself worthy of Hermione. Now, that didn't mean necessarily physical experience, but he had to grow up emotionally and now he's taken a big step up. Because he's had the meaningless physical experience - let's face it, his emotions were never deeply engaged with Lavender -
[Much laughter in which Melissa emits a "Won-Won"]
JKR: - and he's realized that that is ultimately not what he wants, which takes him a huge emotional step forward.
ES: So he's got a little bit more than a teaspoon; now there's a tablespoon?
JKR: Yeah, I think. [Laughter]
MA: Watching all this, were you surprised when you first logged on and found this intense devotion to this thing that you knew was not going to happen?
JKR: Yes. Well, you see, I'm a relative newcomer to the world of shipping, because for a long time, I didn't go on the net and look up Harry Potter. A long time. Occasionally I had to, because there were weird news stories or something that I would have to go and check, because I was supposed to have said something I hadn't said. I had never gone and looked at fan sites, and then one day I did and oh - my - god. Five hours later or something, I get up from the computer shaking slightly [All laugh]. "What is going on?" And it was during that first mammoth session that I met the shippers, and it was a most extraordinary thing. I had no idea there was this huge underworld seething beneath me.
ES: She's putting it into a positive light!
JKR: Well I am, I am, but you know. I want to make it clear that delusional is your word and not mine! [Much laughter]
MA: You're making our lives a lot easier by laying it on the table -
JKR: Well I think anyone who is still shipping Harry/Hermione after this book -
ES: [whispered] Delusional!
JKR: Uh - no! But they need to go back and re-read, I think. ES: Thank you.

The entire interview can be found here, there are three parts to it:

It was done after Half Blood Prince came out.

I haven't read any of the Harry Potter books...or seen the movies.... :ninja:

But all this discussion make me want to give them a try. I always carry books with me at school to read during breaks, so maybe I should start from Book 1. Even though I already know what happens. It could still be fun. :buzz:
Glad to know I'm not the only one jssy4eva.;)
I haven't read the books either, saw the first three movies though. But all this discussion is making me curious. I don't mind already knowing how it ends, sometimes I read the endings first. But now I'm thinking about giving them a try.^_^

 Won-won, cracked me up everytime

J.K sounds lovely

Ron & Hermione all the way^_^

Fo' sho.'

Maybe I'm a little dilusional, but I wish Harry could have ended up with someone totally new... I think JK just wanted a way to make Harry and the Weasleys related! Why couldn't there have been a second, cooler Weasley girl

All right so I don't know if anybody else posted this but I'll do it anyway... J.K. Rowling came out and gave more details about the Deathly Hallows. She originally wrote a longer epilogue with more details but decided against it. It's definitely worth a read!

Well if she was aiming for artistry/literary pull for the epilogue, that was out the window anyways, so why not just give us loads of details!

But in all honesty, I really do love the last book, the sixth book... all the books. Harry Potter has played such a substantial roll in my life and always will. :flower:

Me to. H&H is totally gross.

I don't understand how people can not see that H&H were never going to be together. There are plenty of hints throughout the book of R&H and H&G. JK even confirmed this in that Mugglenet interview. This is how it's ment to be.

:ninja: I know it's pathetic but I'm finding it really frustrating reading on the net people's comments that want H&H together or hate Ginny. It's just a book but I just get too emotionally involved LOL. I have to keep reminding myself that everyone has different opinions:blush:.

H&HR is an idea that many of us like. Sometimes it doesn't have to do with how the book is written. It has to do with things we idealize.

Part of me feels as though I... well, like Harry is mine. I don't think any girl would have been good enough for him.

And its in an odd maternal fashion. Case and point: The girl I want him to be with (Cho) is the very girl he dosen't want to be with!

I've to start reading the book!!!
Do you guys will want to have an 8th book or are you just done with HP?

I never really understood why he and Cho never worked out.

I think she was a tad too overdramatic for Harry  He had enough of that going on in his life.

Besides, Cho was meant as a 'first crush' character, it wasn't supposed to develop anything past that ^_^

She can't be as overdramaatic as Ginny. Ugh, and I told myself that I wouldn't talk about her anymore....

Then there should have been a new character!! C'mon, how realistic is the idea of best friends getting married and then the third best friend marrying the sister of the other best friend (if that made any sense...)/
