How do you make your skin smooth and flawless? #2

I got the elimination diet from Dr Alejandro Junger book "clean".
Basically you cut out coffee, dairy, milk, eggs, soy products...kinda hard on the first days especially if you can't live without coffee.
But it will pay you back for sure!

As soon as I adjust with the ED I'll start the "clean" part which consists of having 2 shakes per day and only one solid meal.

Okay...the elimination diet sounds a little extreme Lol. Doesn't sound altogether healthy or sustainable. Thank you very much for the information though. I may take elements from it.

You just have to do 1 or 2 weeks of ED and then start to slowly reintroduce foods in your diet to see if they trigger allergies. It's not permanent of course.

Ohh I see, that makes more sense, I think I'd pass out if it was for like a month or something.

About a month ago I started taking a supplement called Supergreens - a blend of spirulina, barley grass and chorella, and its done absolute wonders for my skin! My pimples have cleared up completely and I'm soft and radiant! You can get the supplement in powder form but it tastes absolutely horrible and so I go for the tablet or capsule form. My HG :flower:

I live in Australia and I've had no trouble finding it. You can get it in supermarkets, pharmacies and health food stores. I think it should be easy enough to find in the UK!

I've been contemplating eliminating dairy because i know my body doesn't tolerate it well but i'm kind of worried about the lack of calcium :/

^Why? There's plenty in tap water. If you can drink the tap water in Aussie, that is.

^^ You could always substitute cows milk with soy milk. There's plentny of calcium in on other foods as well.

I was responding to shoegal's post about removing all dairy, soy, animal products etc because i keep hearing about it so soy milk isn't really an option (FYI soy doesn't naturally contain that much calcium, it's added). Plus no other food can really compete. You need like 30 canned tunas or something to get the daily recommended calcium intake which you can get in 2 glasses of milk.

I guess i'll just try it for a month, that won't hurt

...or you could just drink tap water :innocent: All that crap about that you ONLY get calcium from dairy is such BS. Eat a banana instead.

I know a lot of foods have calcium but my concern was consuming the recommended DI. If we all relied on tap water (lmao) for our calcium we'd all have osteo perosis by 30.

Ps: i started taking spirulina supplements too! Havn't noticed anything yet though and the tablets smell like fertilser haha

No we wouldn't. :flower: You can eat all the calcium you want and still end up with osteoporosis, there are many other factors that are equally important. Hormone balance and exercise among many others.

The Danish board of health no longer recommends drinking milk every day, maybe because the dairy producing folks stopped paying them, who knows.

^Is elimination diet the one that's in Eliminating sugar from your diet thread?

I haven't eliminated anything. And eat as much veggies as I can. I don't drink coffe though but nobody could ever take dairy away from me.:P
