i received my amethyst city with RH today. again it looks a lot like magenta. im pretty happy with it i guess. i will take pics later.

has everyone measured theirs?

im kicking myself for not asking T+D for an extra corner patch and hardware.

i think luna had the best leather on her amethyst twiggy.

lucy92: Pardon my ignorance but what do you mean by asking T&D for an extra corner patch and hardware? I thought that the T&D bags were mirror images of the Authentic Bal Bags so I do not follow.

she usually ships for free if you get three items. and most girls here get their chanel flaps from jacky (me included, and he's really fantastic!!!) but then again, some others have gotten theirs from catty too and are pleased with it - depends on what chanels you're talking about?

Okay. Well, I bought some YSL pumps from catty - she assured me they would have the beige inner and sole etc, as in pictures. BUT the ones she sent have a kinda pinky inner and black sole, and it was weird but the box stank of like varnish.

Is this all typical??? I don't know what to do

As you can see by the photos they sent me, the color is spot on.

This is a little late.... but I think this bag looks a lot like the "Electric Yellow" Giant City on Bal's website, given that T&D's lighting always makes the bag a little brighter... I am just so desperate for them to do yellow, I guess...

Thanks jaydotcee but I already tried, to no avail, and wanted to know if someone else could give me some details here, did they come with black soles at all? I always thought they were beige

Oh dear, I've never seen any Magenta or Amethyst bags in real life myself and only done comparisons of T&D's Magenta and Amethyst bags vs the photos from TPF. They look pretty spot on based on the photos I've seen. But as mentioned, photos can be deceiving as compared to real life.

Can I pass off my Amethyst City with GSH as a Magenta with GSH? Or was there never such a combination?

Bal actually did do a run of limited edition Magenta in 07 with both GGH and GSH but only in the city style. It was only available through special order directly with the NYC boutique. However, I think it was said that run of Magenta turned out not exactly like the color of the 05 Magenta..

I would just not worry too much about what to call it and just enjoy it! I swear I didn't bring up the 05 Magenta to start this whole color debate. I was just using it as an example of how much darker the Amethyst is as compared to the auth. and really just pointing out the color difference to get everyone else's thoughts, so myself and everyone else can be better informed! I love T&D's bags and would carry the Amethyst proud either way but would still love to be informed so I can be better prepared to not bring bags that are grossly off to somehwere I shouldn't! And for me, the only place would probably be the bal boutique, to informed dept store sa, and a few very fashion forward acquaintances. You are all right that a person should carry the bag, not the other way around, so if you are confident enough then you can carry off the bag easily. I always tell myself, if I can't tell it's not authentic without having to hold the bag and look at every detail, the no one else can!
