Mods, nowhere have I read that we can't mention tPF as it is mentioned in numerous posts and image links on this thread; all topics seemingly "on topic", just sayin'. Perhaps an update to the guidelines/thread rules etc. is in order.

from the tFS community rules (which you all agree to as a condition of membership) under "responsibilities of a tFS member":

we have been a bit more lax here in allowing discussion about tPF, because it is a great resource for information...
however, i do have to agree with luna, it's not a good idea (and you should all know why it isn't) to mention posting reps here or mentioning the board other than crediting images...
we all know their attitude on replica bags...it's not a secret...

if you want to discuss the other forum, you can do so via pm or profile messages (you can set your profile to private)...

sanitizedfashion, i believe you had mentioned jacky was making a "grey" ps1, i am assuming it is the smoke one, which is leather...
i think someone posted pics of one they bought in the ps1 thread...that color is pretty much sold out everywhere else...

eta: colette.fr has a grey suede one, so i guess you should ask him if it's suede or leather...

Hi Xooey, Between Jacky's #2886 Black Caviar w/silver amd #1112 LAMBSKIN, which would you say is closer to the authentic? (personal style preferences aside! )

Also, do any of the ladies here know if Catty and Jacky's Chanels compare?

Oooh Catty's "super" Chanel bags are so exhorbitant!! Fangfang's "super" Chanels are around the same price but has better pictures.. but we know Catty's bags always look better IRL! Anyone plan on getting her "super" Chanels?

Hi! I've seen, touched and examined my friend's authentic Chanel GST and I would say that the quality of J's Caviar leather is comparable to the quality of auth Caviar leather. I have seen a lady carry (what I assume to be) an auth Jumbo Caviar w Silver HW and the Caviar leather is no different from mine. However, the interlocking CC hardware on her bag was FLAT, unlike J's, which has skinny CCs. But someone has mentioned that Chanel did manufacture both types of hardware, so I won't be too worried about that.

I am not able to comment on how J's #1112 Lambskin compares to the auth, as neither myself nor my friends own any auth medium flaps for comparison. But I would love to know how it differs too.

I did think of getting Catty's super Chanel, but the price point puts me off, not to mention her photos, which don't do her products any justice. I would love to get the reissue, which I think is harder to replicate.

FYI: I was looking at Jacky's bubble Chanels... Isn't the hardware incorrect on that one? It should be flat CC's, right? Not the raised ones he has???

I did a check on TPF before ordering and the raised, curly hardware on J's BQ Bowler bag is from Chanel's latest collection. The flat hardware's from previous '07 & '08 collections. A fellow member posted an excellent post about the Chanel BQ collections in this thread, but I can't find it. It details all the differences in the 3 collections.

I wish J would do the '07 version of the BQ Bowler instead, and in colours like Dark Beige or Dark Brown. I do prefer the flat hardware, plus the handles are longer, so it's easier to sling on the shoulders. Oh well, a girl can always wish!

Has anyone ever DYED their NBF bags before?

I have a NBF Magenta First and I am seriously considering dyeing it BLACK. It will be a DIY project.

I would like to know if anyone here has ever dyed their NBF bags (be it DIY or sending it to the professionals?). Is there anything I should take note of - the black dye rubbing off, the leather turning dry after I have dyed the bag, etc?

When I go ahead with my little DIY project, I will post before and after photos. But I hope I won't end up ruining the bag!

I don't have a lambskin medium flap, but a caviar one. The only thing I noticed was my auth's CC's are thicker. Plus there's no indentation on one of the C's - but maybe that's only on lambskin bags? I don't know myself.

There are some really excellent DIY threads on TPF - I recall one woman dyed her white City by herself and posted detailed pics - and the results were fantastic!

Hey, great idea about dyeing the extra tassel! I almost forgot about it. I'll go check out the leather dyes in local DIY stores this weekend.

i think the black is right? there was some talk of this pages and pages ago...maybe do a search? i love this collection too, but i think someone said the grays are off because they weren't made with the textured hardware this season. don't quote me, but it was something to that effect.

pinkprincess - i'm down for the ame GGH wallet too. still deciding on my GSH color...definitely marine, raisin or just plain black.

viasarah - i wouldn't recommend ggh for the fashionably shy as it definitely "stands out"...and that's why i love it B) i prefer ggh across the board for most colors (with few exceptions) because it pops and shimmers so spectacularly. if you can get your hands on a ggh amethyst mid-day, i say go for it girl!

annanyc - the gold hardware on all my nbf bags and accessories are the same tone. i took pics of my ggh cities to show you that even on dark, pale and bright colors the hardware color is the same

well ive gone and done it again- left the thread for nearly a month and have 300 pages to catch up on!!! just wanted to say I finally got my parcels from Catty almost a month later! The Mulberry bag is terrible though after all that wait - and she sent me the wrong stuff too!!! I got CLs from her but they are way too loose on my ankles ( i can never wear court shoes coz my ankles are weird where they are always too loose and are like flip flops!)

not a great order overall- check out the difference in the pics of her Mulberry leather compared to a wallet (which is a good copy) I got from her over 2 years ago - i think im going to have to give up on Mulberrys and they are my FAV bag ever

really like the alexa too but not going to risk it from catty if the current one is so bad!

the Jimmy Choo Martha clutch is pretty cool but no idea how good a copy it is though- ill put pics up soon

I've also fallen in love with pure simple leather after a trip to Morocco over New Years - got a bag there which (for me) beats my much loved mulberrys coz of colour texture and leather!

Anyways..Anthra comparision pic. Anthra 1st batch GGH WK, Anthra 2nd batch GGH city, Anthra 2nd batch RH WK.
I think the 2 GGH bags are the same, maybe the city is half a shade darker, the anthra rh wk is about 3 shades darker than them both.

Black line up- Blk wk GSH (spring 2009) Black rh city (recent batch 2009/10) Blk GGH wk (spring 2009)
The GH wks are more of a JET black, and the cityis a off/soft black.

I think all those wondering if marine/officer is to close to Anthra, i say NO, unless you have a very BLUE undertoned bag, I do not, mine is more gray/green. I don't think there going to be worlds apart in color difference, but enough in tone and hue for you to notice.
