parkmin good to know amethyst is darker IRL. from all the pictures it would seem brighter. it's sort of a chameleon pink.

i want to condition my ame city to break it in faster but i dont have any leather conditioner yet. should i just use any ol lotion?

I read on TPF that some ladies use lubriderm lotion (unscented) and they massage it like crazy. Lots of people tend to stay away from any old lotion because of fear of fading or changes in color... HTH! :)

Thanks parkmin! I may want to get my amethyst to fade a bit. I think I like a lighter pink but I also heard it could damage leather. I'll just do a search as I know this is a really repetitive question. I should've paid more attention when this was answered!

omg baby_yorkie! What a cool DIY project! YAYYY for DIYs!!! :)
I can't wait to see the baby all dry and nice! It looks like it's turning out well! HAHA

you guys like this????

disclaimer: :D do not try this if u dont feel comfortable. it might lead to uneven discoloration/fading (sure in this case) and shrinking.

mine came out PERFECT. little dry, but i think because it's just out of the dryer. will update in couple days

Pinkprincess: I think it might be the same price for both hardwares? I probably won't be getting any wallets. I'd rather put that money towards the Khaki or Cognac PS1 haha. I'm on the hunt for the perfect brown bag, since it's unlikely T&D will be making it for awhile. :(

I've also been eyeing Jacky's Bottega Roma bag, but I'm not sure if it would look a little old on me.

Fangfang's Damier Azur Neverfull

Hey all,

So I slunked out of the office with my new tote, wondering how close it is to the auth.

I just checked on the LV website, and DAMN if they didn't get ALL the details correct?!?

The handles are correctly slanted and placed, the logo placement and stud placement is spot on, the inside looks correct, even the length of the inside clasp leather bits looks as right as one can tell.

Sorry I don't have pics, but I SO LOVE the Damier Azur line. Got this for $100 shipped to Los Angeles.

Am looking for the USB wire for my camera so I can post pics.

baby_yorkie- Leather looks fab and color looks great! You are so courageous! HAHA! I don't think I have that much courage to give my bag a wash, but maybe I'll give it a try! :) Thanks for sharing with us your DIY trick!

smkelly- I think I may have forgotten to post this earlier, but what a relief that you were able to find your package! But how random that it ended up with your boss! I'm glad the details are good! :)

baby_yorki -- it is MUCH MUCH better! Honestly, the original color is very off. But now it has that sexy and saturated magenta pink, which is totally TDF! Great Job!!!!!

can someone please send me jacky's new website please? thank you so much :)

HOLY CRAP Baby Yorkie! I had to go back and read your DIY post through a few times I was in shock. You are fearless in the name of fashion!

I feel like I need a complete play by play on why you made the choices you did. Did you evaluate the color after the first wash with detergent. And then the dryer! That's wild. Were all the steps meant to lighten and change the color or were you thinking to alter the leather, size and shape of the bag too??

haha, i know i was totally mad :) lol

as some of you know, i used to have the first sale magenta, which also was wrong and i loved that bag regardless. i ordered this one to replace my beated up bag + the leather is amazing. that said, i dont care about the color. even if it turn out darker (which i thought i might become bordeaux) or lighter (even better) i dont care :)
when the bag is WET, it's completely dark, even after i dried it wil towel. i only see the big different after it's 100% dried from the dryer. i did measure the bag before i wash/dry.now it's very soft and break in, i couldnt get the right measurement, i need someone to pull it straight in order to measure it exactly. the changes in size is not noticeable.
i dont know if i answered ur question :) ask me again if i didnt :D
but my original purpose is...the break in the leather. make it softer :)

baby_yorkie; you are so OUTRAGEOUS, girl! I thought you did the process because you wanted to lighten the colour. Regardless, your weekender looks great. It's really "puddling" now. YUM!

^ Did you wash and dry it with the tassels on too? How did they stand up? So is the overall washed and dried color now darker or lighter than it was to begin with? Are the bottom 2 pictures you posted the final results dried and ready to wear? What color are you calling it-- still Magenta? geez, sorry for all the questions.

p.s. I also think you may now have to change your screen name to MacGyver. lol.:ninja:

I've never been one to jump on the "it" bag of the moment, it seems to take me a while to figure out if I really like something or not. Someone recently posted about feeling meh about a bag until they spotted someone rockin' it.
So my question is....
Any love for the Miu Miu Coffer?
Anyone here have one? (doesn't one of the mods have one?)
I really like the pale pinky-beige colour.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Input?

shellybean: thanks. im glad ot's puddling".i do wish it lighten up, but not the main purpose :)

100mph: it's lighter now. not a lot, but yes, lighter and dif. color. it's more toward pink now, rather than dark purplish pink, KWIM?

i took off all the tassels and wash them separately. and why the bag without the tassels attached. i just put the tassels in the sink with water and detergent, squeeze it a lit, then run water abit, then towel dry and woop in the dryer :) YEs, it is ready to wear.
you know when it's dry, maybe not 100% dry but when it's dry, it's a different color. i took it out serveral time to check, to make sure i turn out the area that's still wet, because as the dryer turn, the bag is folded here and there.
the color now is still not any right shade, but give it a little time, once it starts fading a little more, it can pass as a good old 05 magenta (means beat up/abused/dirty :)
