Sanitizedfashion- Shame that Jacky wont replace the silver hardware with the black (he already has acsess to it, coz the hardware is black on the black leather) I know what you mean about him being a man of few words!
Coco- I also think that Jackys bayswater is truer in color to the authentic, of course black is safer Mulberry leather is gorgeous, darwin leather they call it , I bought a leather care product by colonil for my mulberry roxannes as thats what was recomended.
Thankfully for me not lovin or interested in getting the smudge or the alexas....my wallet thanks me

... *sigh* And back on the Birkin train I go. ARRRGH! I close-up'd Jacky's Birkins and his newest stock actually seems like the stitching is quite uniform. His handles are the best and his engraving is not too deep. I figured I'd go with the a black 35 or 40 PHW - something that can't be mussed up too bad. (If all goes well, I'll go for the 35 or 40 tan GHW for the summer.)

Any thoughts? Pics? Votes of confidence? Votes of 'girl don't do it!'?

As far as wallets go-I'm going to get a giant money wallet for sure, I have a black cp so its the perfect pairing, I prefer to have black or dark wallets in my bag as they get so much use and will get grotty if there light.

PinkPrincess- I personally would stick to leather care products for my bags, they are made especially for leather.
I use apple care cleaner, and am waiting on lovinmybags shine restore, i would rather use a supermarket brand leather cleaner than a lubiderm myself..just my opinion tho. I know other members on other forums use lubiderm and so on, I guess you can try a patch test on the bottom?

ITA You're always going to want it if you dont have it, so as you say "get it over with" You really can't go wrong.

I have a tan 40cm ghw Birkin from Jacky. It is really nice.I tend to wear it more in the summer.It is beautiful. I go into my wardrobe to just look at it.
I have a black 35 cm phw and a black 40 cm ghw from Jacky as well.

Reps are fantastic, because they are luxury items you dont have to treat so precious, can really enjoy them, and make them individually yours. :-)

By the way, the Damier Azur Neverfull is from FangFang on Ioffer. My original D.A. Noe was from Jacky, as was/is the pouchette in D.A.



I am really impressed with Joy's Birkins. A dear friend ordered the 40CM with PH and is over the moon happy with it. But looking at Jacky's...I'm really tempted. The light blue ciel is gorgeous, but I also love the basic deep black.


I know I still have to post pics of my baby, the black RH work, and don't get me wrong, I love her to death. But I can't help thinking this is an errant batch of black; I was expecting the blackest of all black--which it's not--and dang if the thing doesn't have miniscule sparkles in it. It's not just the lighting, either.

YAY on the Birkin! I live in a pretty old money area of ATL and never see Birkins, not even at our premiere shopping districts etc. Kinda weird seeing as we have an Hermes boutique (now located at The Streets of Buckhead). Atlanta definitely needs to step it's Birkin game up, starting with you ? Also, asl_babes got her Birkin from Catty.

It's kind of annoying. I mean he does have the correct hardware; how much time could a swap or discount take? Sheesh. As it's been said, I don't know if ca. $400 is appropriate for inaccurate reps. Although, that snakeskin was calling my name, or so I thought .

goddessh & bagalicious: I've never seen a bal wallet IRL. How do they close? With a magnetic clasp under the flap? I'm more of a zippered wallet kinda girl-- so that all my "money" ( aka receipts, and plastic junk and crap) doesn't bust out

Sanitizedfashion- I stayed in Atlanta (Buckhead) on and off working in 2000-2005 and I used to go to Phipps and Lennox regulaly as I was staying in the Ritz carlton opposite the Malls...do you know where I mean? There was a Hermes shop there at the time, i bought my double strap cape cod watch there, i think it was Lennox...And i never saw a Birkin in Buckhead either...lots of LV and Coach...is it still that way?
All I know is I spent a lot of money in those 2 Malls..the stores there were AMAZING!


Re- Python PS1-If you feel comfortable, E mail him politley (you know what he's like) and send him the authentic pic and ask him to change the hardware to black, maybe that will encourage him to do it, it seems ashame that a great bag is going to go to waste because of the HW that can I assume be rectified.

100mph I have never seen a bal wallet up close either, i just trust T&D at this point But maybe one of our lovely members has one (or knows) and could give us the skinny on it

The ones that the guys are making now, the money style, has a magnetic clasp.

There is the compagnon style, it's a zip around type wallet, but looks similar They might do those eventually I think!
