Ok...So I enhanced my GGH Anthra city this morning, and compared it to my anthra GGH untouched work..pics by me.
It's a subtle 2 shades richer/darker, But i think well worth it.

Did you do that with zippers, too?

No i did not do the zippers, i think that will be counter productive as it will flake IMO when you open and close them...just the GGH and the textured bits of the buckles on the bag just to blend in the tones.
I'm going to do another one this afternoon...I'm on a roll

I think It's really risky to paint the hardware when I haven't even seen the auth version I mean I would be scared that I didn't mixed the colours in good proportions and so

Regarding LV luggage-there is definitely rep vernis out there, mainly in pegase 50 (the smaller one that would be good for the overhead compartment. Do a search on ioffer under 'pegase' and you will see them.

Just look for the sellers who take paypal and have a high transaction count with a good rating.I am not recomending them, but look at seller yaso-high trans count with good fb and they have the luggage.

If you don't feel comfortable with ioffer than take the model number of what you want (pegase 50 is M91992) and email catty or jacky if they have it and they will tell you if they can get it and a price.

The only issue I would see with vernis luggage is the scuffing-if you can live with that then I think vernis would be cute!

A while ago member quizvan showed her sizeable lv luggage collection-it was incredible!!

bagalicious and baby-yorkie: I am glad that both of you have come to an amicable agreement. I for one appreciate that baby-yorkie posted what she thought was wrong/off with that bag or any bag for that matter. New members are not so well informed about T&D reps and some of us are not do-it your selfer repairwoman as you bagalicious. I think it is fair to post what one likes or does not like about a bag that is for sale and that is my opinion. I don't think it is harmful in any way and I am sure that the newcomers to the forum and there are many, appreciate that we share this knowledge. That is my two cents and I will say no more about it.

bagalish it looks awesome. i definitely think the GGH color difference is most appealing on anthra because the warmer gold looks much better than yellow gold. i saw the paint at michael's, i'm going to get some today!

i think is $165...but i'm not sure! they have it on ioffer
they said they have only few remaining!
i can say it's gorgeous!

baga-i can def see the difference! The gold is darker and richer looking now and I am not even a bal expert (I thought it was a black bag-that's how clueless I am about bal!)

I think that would be my fear as well, without having the auth right beside me to compare, I think I have a pretty good eye for color but l'd need to see the original.

Also can someone with an auth GGH bag comment ...does the GGH authentic fade with time? I would like to know that so I would not be paranoid carrying around my NBF GGH bag, that I am just thinking of purchasing, TIA

I'm still waiting for my black city GGH. I'm thinking about it 24/7, checking the tracking number like a crazy horse huh ... Next week I'll be visiting my family in Poland and I would love to take the bag with me and show her my country

What do you all think? would anyone else do it?
I think it neutralizes the yellow gold tone to more of a deeper gold tone.
I think I will my do last 2 over the weekend.
Ijust went out with my newly enhanced GGH anthra to see what itlooked like int he daylight....and it looks GREAT IMO, so if anyone is thinking about taking the plunge I think you will be very happy with the results.
And no I am not starting a thimble painting shop just sharing the love with anyone who wants to darken there HW.

The boys have told me the bags have gone to GuanZhou to be sent off.
But i've asked for tracking number for the past three days and they've been putting it off?

T&D did say that my bags were going out this week.
I don't have any tracker number from them yet but I am not concerned.
I know that I will receive my bags by Mid March. Things take longer these days. I am waiting on a Raisin City w/RH and a Raisin Giant Day w/GGH.

i have jacky's black wrap bracelet with gold studs (i'm not sure if he has those anymore) and i love it! the leather is so soft. from what i could tell in pictures it looked correct. (i haven't seen one in real life.) the gold pops, and it hasn't tarnished or anything.

also, just remembered there is the accessories thread too. might be more info over there. and welcome!

I am thinking of getting the city GGH as well in black, but as I don't own a black bag yet maybe I should ease into it with a rh black city instead one thing l'm sure of is that I would definitely like the thinner leather B)

I have a Black Men's day along with Bagalicious on order since last October.
T&D wrote me back that they will be making the Black days as soon as they receive their next shipment of Black leather. I think that I will have it in May
sometime.

you totally NEED to do this. we ALL do, imho. it prevents people from running around and looking like a fool.

when it comes to NBF bags, honestly, unless you run into malena in the milan airport (which i was very afraid of!), you're good. while i do not consider myself an expert, i can spot most fakes. but like i've said before, if you look and play the part, there's a solid chance no one, even most "experts" won't realize your bag is fake (IF it's a good bag).

great idea, chelsea! i forgot girls used to email catty bag requests and she could usually source them. that was common practice for awhile, but not so much lately. and yes, quizvan's LV collection is out of control!

i miss her and a few others (some of whom i can't remember their names )!

and a Raisin Giant Day w/GGH.

cannot wait to see this one. it is going to be drop dead!
