Boluda, to each its taste but I wouldn't call Maje or Sandro "designer".

They're just brands from the Sentier aspiring to be seen as designers and pricing their items as such. The designs are mostly copies of real designers who put thoughts, creativity and efforts in their collection.
Plus quality from those brands is very so-so.

To complete, I own and like both brands (Maje, Sandro) but honestly you can't compare Marant to any of these.
Wether in terms of quality of fabrics, longetivity and cuts, Marant is way above.

Your parents could find that jacket at the Printemps. I saw it a few days ago.

Hello Aby!! Thanks so much for your reply, and I have the coat! Parents got back two nights ago. It might be the same exact one that you saw. My dad called the next day after I posted my question on tfs and said they were at Printemps and was wondering what my little one would like. Guess where he was when he called? Right in front of Isabel Marant, too funny... I described the coat to him and it didn't take long before he saw it, size 0.....perfect. I love it!! It's fab and thank you again for your help!! :flower: ^_^

I think it depends where you live on how you view Sandro. In London, there was only one tucked away on Floral St. in Covent Garden, and prices started at 100 pounds but usually ranged from 100 - 300. They had beautiful stuff, but I guess not enough customers as they closed down (unless they moved?). However, maybe if there are more around you it becomes like an average high street shop.

Regardless, LOVE the coat! It's gorg! Congrats on finding it (and lucky you with parents who were able to rifle through racks to get it!)!

When will they start selling the ss09 stuff in boutiques? in january?

hi girls.. i'm currently in the US where it's so hard to find isabel marant as we all know.. but i'm going back to HK soon where there is a shop. can anyone who's lucky enough to have a boutique near them tell me if they're still stocking those fur-trimmed/fur-lined parkas? are they having sales? i can't decide whether to settle on my second choice or wait til i can get to the store!

Yes, in January. I pre-ordered a couple things from Satine, and my SA said they will ship out at the beginning of the month.

thanks, what did you pre-order? I want one of the lace tops and maybe something else but I can't afford anything else i'm afraid.

Yes, Satine sent me a PDF. They had a great selection of Etoile, but I didn't care for most of the pieces from the main line. I'm hoping other places will have the things I'm looking for. :)

I just ordered a couple basics-- some sweatpants and a cardigan..

My SA at Satine

It's time to revive this thread for the spring. I ordered the sweatpants and a linen tee that I am pretty excited about...

I am getting quite frustrated with IM's whole "let's make ordering pieces the most confusing and mysterious endeavor possible" with that said, anyone going to purchase anything for spring?

I am looking, maybe, for a plaid shirt. Although, I have many great thrifstore alternatives.

nada has interested me this season. lets hope she ups the anti in paris because this spring was very underwhelming.

but i do like the cardi classicalbang.

I bought a basic plaid shirt from Etoile and I want a flowery dress too.

I've tried a couple of dresses and I liked them a lot, But I want to go to Paris first to see if I can get them cheaper. I love this collection I feel i could wear everything, it's totally my style.

Does anyone Know if those "ropes" for the boots are sold apart or really belong to the boots? I read somewhere that they are just an accessory they used in the styling?

can't say, Les Sucettes.
The boots weren't in stores yet 10 days ago... Which is a shame considering Zara already has copies. According to the SA, the boots should be in this week or next.

Spring Fever, in a 7
CERTAIN things are simply recession-proof. Isabel Marant’s taupe suede boots with chains wrapped around the ankle are among them. The French designer, whose bohemian-cool clothing has a cult following, showed them with every look on her spring runway; they’ve since become a sensation of sorts, selling out before they even hit stores. “They’re insanely out of control,” said Nevena Borissova of the SoHo boutique Curve. Her shipment doesn’t arrive until later this month, but already she has sold half of it. “Tan boots are a big trend for spring,” Ms. Borissova said. “And these are the best of them.”
Isabel Marant boots, about $1,050 at Curve, 83 Mercer Street; (212) 966-3626.

it makes me sad to see those boots are selling out, i would've loved to get a pair at some deep discount price at the end of summer. sigh.
