shewar, do a search on yoox.com for ndc footwear in the fall/winter section. there are taupe suede buckle boots that are very similar for a fraction of the cost. :flower:

clearly I'm not seeing what others are seeing. Get a pair of slouchy grey suede boots. Get a chanel-like link chain from Michaels, put grey fabrics through the chain, wind around ankle and boots, et voila. I would not pay more than $300 for them...can't believe people are snapping them up...

^ I was thinking you could make something similar as well. $1000+ for those boots is insane. Although personally, I've always thought they were kind of ugly. :ninja:

Maybe but sometimes the concept is worth paying for as some assign a high value to such intangibles.

Did anyone ever saw this dress? And how it runs? Isabel Marant stuff is so inconsistent, I have stuff that could only be a zero because the 1 is ginourmous, but I tried other stuff that the 0 cannot even pass my body.

I don't know where you are located Les Sucettes but I haven't seen that dress yet in any of the Paris Department stores.

Some of the catwalk pieces are beginning to arrive in store. I tried on a cotton embroidered voile top in white and black. I preferred the black but decided to pass because the shape was a bit too triangular, that said some very nice IM pieces are out there...

Ah thank you I'm in London, but I will go to Paris soon.

I find so much of Isabel Marant items to be sooo trendy this season, and the quality seems to have gone down as well... several of the tops, the cotton was just so flimsy..not in a cute way but in what you would expect from H&M.

I find the whole collction just very...tarty.

^ I agree. The only things I've purchased for S/S 09 are the cardigan and sweatpants I posted a couple pages back. Usually I have the problem of wanting too much, but this season it doesn't seem to be an issue.

^ I found the styling of the runway show to be tarty but not the clothes themselves though - the chain boots are a bit though. Isabel Marant's clothing typically looks homespun - faded and well worn - and I think with the high value of the euro - the pieces are looking way overpriced!

thanks, Aby.

I really could not be less interested in the s/s stuff, to be honest. I saw in the window of Zara that they have knocked off the chain boots....

How come you're not interested at all Laika? Care to share?

I wonder if the Etoile range is better than the main this season... it seems what the buyers have picked here have been very focused on the show pieces.

sorry, pucci, i meant to add, " that i've seen" after "stuff.":blush:

Part of it is that is very distant from my personal style, as you can imagine, but I'm also having a hard time finding anything that's objectively good about it. The whole collection gives off a vibe of trashy trying to masquerade as sexy. I know the french editors are a bit obsessed with this right now, as they are with Balmain, but I find it very unappealing not to mention ubiquitous.

Sorry to be so negative in this thread. :( I loved the last collection and I'm certainly not down on Isabel--it's just this season.
