UHHH this drives me crazy:
I was driving home from work and there was a radio station talking about it. They said that Keifer stepped in when a paparazzi jumped in front of Brooke and tried to get in her face and take her picture, so he valiantly stepped up and headbutted the photog. I was so upset when I heard that! Is it Keifer's people that are putting this story out there? They were talking on the radio station how he was a hero for doing what he did. Where on earth did the radio station get this story?

We've confirmed that Kiefer Sutherland will be charged with misdemeanor assault in connection with the headbutting incident earlier this week.

Kiefer headbutted fashion designer Jack McCollough at an event after-party on Monday -- an attack Jack says was completely unprovoked. We're told Kiefer says he did it after Jack pushed Brooke Shields.

The New York Daily News broke the story. Kiefer will show up at the NYPD and get a desk appearance ticket and his arraignment date will be set.

A rep from the L.A. City Attorney's office tells TMZ they will contact the NYPD and the D.A. to get details and then decide if they will try and revoke Kiefer's probation. He's currently on probation for a DUI.

But Sutherland's behavior has made him some powerful enemies in the New York fashion community, among them Anna Wintour, the powerful Vogue editor who controls the annual Costume Institute Ball.

A source at Conde Nast tells StyleList: "Anna is furious that the Met Gala got upstaged by Kiefer doing something stupid at an after-party that wasn't even part of her event. Now that's all anyone is talking about, not her party. And she is so genuinely fond of Jack, she has supported him and Lazaro for years, she really feels they are part of the future of American fashion. So she's doubly annoyed."

Boo Hoo. Cry me a river. I'm also sure Keifer couldn't care less if he won't be on the cover of Men's Vogue again.

And a friend of McCollough and his design partner, Lazaro Hernandez, tells StyleList there is a such a thing as bad publicity.

"This whole thing isn't doing the guys any good because their whole thing is that they're celebrity-friendly," says the pal. "I mean, Jack knows Brooke [Shields] and there was never any problem with them that night, he didn't knock her over or whatever **** was reported the next day. To get into this whole public fight with Kiefer because he was drunk isn't doing their label any good, they don't need this kind of publicity."

What a bunch of CRAP. This won't effect there label at all. This whole issue will be forgotton by the time the next R-T-W collections start. It's not like he headbutted someone like Karl or Valentino. Nobody talks about Tommy and Axl having a punch up. Whatever.

Yeah, he's dating the style director of Allure magazine, Siobhan Bonnouvrier. And since the incident, it was reported that he's been holed up at her apartment (until late today when he went to the PD), so, I guess she has not dumped him or anything, as of now.

Sorry to double post, I was editing my first post, but I accidentally took too long and it wouldn't let me save the changes anymore.

Thinking about this, I'm conflicted... I mean, I must say, if she's worried about her image and publicity, then it'd be wise to part ways from him, however, I can't help but think that nobody is perfect, and yes, being an alcoholic is a particularly difficult and prominent problem, however, if she dumps him over this single incident, that would seem a bit cold. I mean we all screw up and make mistakes, at times.

The difference here is that he's a celebrity, and on top of that, he head-butted another celebrity of sorts, which of course means his mistake will be heavily scrutinized, and criticized, in a way that would most likely not happen with someone who is an "unknown", so to say.

Now, if Kiefer continues to drink heavily and not seek any help...then I would understand his girlfriend breaking up with him. But hopefully, this incident will be a wake-up call, and he'll see that he clearly can't continue with drinking like he does, otherwise he'll just keep hurting those around him.
