Knitting!

I love knitting!! Currently knitting socks for my son for Christmas. They are plain socks but the yarn has a pattern built in so they turn out to look striped (blue, white, tan, grey)

^that book will be really cute :woot:

I knit my tFS elf something....but the pattern was so f-ed up it turned out totally different than the picture in the book! :furious: I hope she still likes it...

I'm currently knitting myself a cardigan..can't wait to wear it  After that, I plan to mary-jane style foot booties for myself and I'm going to put rubber soles on the bottom of them

a-ok. :flower:

i just spent $90 bucks on yarn  when i had planned to go in and just get one skein of $6 hemp yarn. picked up some gorgeous rowan yarn and book and some noro stuff. i thnk those two companies are gradually becoming my favs. i'm going to knit myself a vintage inspired purple striped bathingsuit out of a acrylic cottom rowan yarn :)

ok, anyone ever hear of something called
b.a. stitch.

yes i googled and drank but did not find.
dont ask why im asking,
family related, etc

maybe it dont exist.

^what does 'b.a.' stand for? and perhaps you don't know what it might look like? a lot of stitches can be categorized in several 'families'

this is the problem. i don't know.
pretty sure not british airlines.
i think the person in question who thinks i should know
has gotten the name down wrong.
i feel ill-informed for not knowing
but i'm always ill-informed
etc.

thanks for response and not calling me crazy.

well, ok

to continue
cause i just can't stop
i was skyped by relative
(i can't believe i have relatives either) this:

B.A. = broderie anglaise

Slip next five sts. pearlwise dropping yarn around the needle of previous row, slip 5 sts. back on the left-hand needle, insert point of the needle through the loops and counting sts. as one st. (k.1, p.1) twice, k.1 into the five sts.;

obviously from some book or something
and relative asks me if i know simpler way or this
or have images to make easier.

she seems to think cause my interest in la mode
my knowledge of knitting is extensive.

it aint.

anyway, i dont know what she means either.
things were so much easier in
hows the weather thread.

better have a drink..

^Ah I didn't know you could do broderie anglaise as a knit...
From what I know, broderie anglaise is cutwork. You cut a design with holes in a fabric and finish the edges. They're just like eyelets
Well, it is possible to create eyelets with knitting/crochet...

merci,
for response.

pink "ginko" scarf

i finally got a digital camera and am posting a pic of my favorite design - the "ginko" scarf, this one in pink.

it has a center panel that you can wrap around the neck multiple times, adjusting the "arms" for whatever length desired. and it's made from a supersoft, luscious wool.
