I'm surprised by this collection - I didn't think Albaz has it in him to send out strong, powerful women! This is one of his best collection in years, having finally made a leap to define a new Lanvin woman, with a lot of help from Thierry Mugler and YSL, I must say. I love almost every piece here.

That one shaped and scuplted lapel up, the other lapel down is such a classic Mugler touch!!

you know there's a sea change afoot when you can't tell if the garment under a lanvin fur is a minidress or a shirt. seriously, alber has given us not only a greatest hits -- i can't help but remember all of those fabulous black dresses from fall/winter 2003 -- but he's given us a woman who not only has that french elegance we know him for, but that outrageous sexy vamp we never knew he could do. it's with these collections -- as with some of his pre-fall and resort offerings -- that we see just how deep alber's love for women goes. he doesn't reduce women into this stereotype or that -- the lanvin girl wouldn't do this, the lanvin girl would do that -- but he gives them a full panoply of looks from the stately to the sl*tty. i wished more houses would design for every woman like he did with this collection and stop trying to put them in a BOX. honestly, who else has given us pieces that could go from formal to fetish without missing a beat?

This is so good, so good. All of that angular, sharp structure is completely refreshing for a Lanvin collection, and as much as I love all of the wild, whimsical embellishment towards the end, the clean, aggressive tailoring and dresses are definitely my favorite part. I don't even have anything interesting to say, just praise really. The only thing I don't like is that single pair of furry boots, and they're easy enough to ignore.

the cuts and shapes are lovely, but i hate that theres such a lack of bold colors, it all seems so dark to me

thrilling. i love the structure and all the drama in the clothes although i prefer the looks with less embellishments as opposed to the last few over-the-top ones. but it's all gorgeous.

I love the wigs. I don't really know what to say about the makeup since the girls' eyes look taken out or they seem to be possessed, or maybe it's the angles. I'd be lying if I said I loved all the fur and leather in this collection too. But overall, it reminds me of FW08, which is a great thing, just with a lot more quirks and twists
EDIT: I forgot to say that I love the styling and the details are mouthwatering

The whole collection makes me dizzy. I agree with helmut.newton. The poetry, brilliance, and simplicity of his earlier collections were long gone. And those boxy huge fur coats just hideous.
