Lanvin S/S 10 Paris

Lovely collection
simply gorgeous and classy
especially when you see the reactions of so many of you,
sexy and elegant

the great part of it, it's that it doesnt feel pretentious, Alber is not trying too hard to make it beautifull, it's like simplicity and class at the same time, there's no weird stuff going on...he surely knows how to delivers clothes

Thanks for the video Charly! Anna W was looking beautiful!

This is a very beautiful collection but I've seen this from him before. It's not progressive enough for me. But like I said, I can't deny the beauty of this collection.

OMG the shoes!! I love love love...

I love the over the top dresses, the one legged jumpsuits, and the snake/animal jewelry. Its all so beautiful and masterfully crafted.

I love Lanvin. Always been my favorite every season and this collection is no exception.

After these past three dull weeks, this collection is like a sigh of relief

I think more than any other designer nowadays, Elbaz truly knows how to dress and style a woman and yet not comprise actual design and creativity. His proportions are so dead on in many pieces that it makes the models look completely taller than they already are, and sexy. And that draping of his, perfectly executed season after season.

Believe it or not if i were rich enough, i'd have bought entire collection.

this just looks messy...
especially compared to some of his previous collections...
he's usually SO much better than this...

:ermm:...

i don't see very much that is actually appealing...
and all the one shoulder, one leg, one glove nonsense really gets annoying after awhile...

oh well...
everyone is entitled to a miss every now and again...
hopefully he'll be back on track by next season...
too bad really, cause fall 09 is GORGEOUS...even better hanging in the stores...
this is just one party dress after another...
and frankly, no one is really having parties these days...
so it's quite 'off' in my opinion...

really misses the mark and is not modern or cool...
:ninja:

This is the definition of LUXURY, these clothes just bleed opulence

that's the first thing that came into my mind, luxury. this is seriously the definition of it.

i love the collection but still have problems separating some collections from each other because its so similar. some of it seems non cohesive but the work in each garment overrides that.

we must thank alber elbaz for forever making us smile in a world filled with so much gloom. i'm most happy that he's managed to carry through the sense of joy and caprice that he introduced in his resort collection into this colorful and vibrant collection. it's clearly uncomfortable territory for him -- does this speak to his own continually unease with happiness, perhaps? -- as he's had to rely on the gimmicks of a few of his parisian neighbors to sustain some of his look. fortunately, alber elbaz knows nothing if not how to transform even the most hackneyed into the most elegant clothes in all of paris.

with respect to silhouette, one must make reference to the fall/winter offerings of both balenciaga and balmain. while he did it his way, it's clear that he's working from the same reference points as ghesquiere and decarnin.

^ Balmain? Maybe. There is definitely a similarity in some key trends used, but don't forget that it was back in S/S 2008 that Elbaz originally gave us a taste of it as well.

I'm actually not wowed by it.:ninja: It's beautiful indeed and Alber is in a universe of his own, what he does, no one can do better. It just feel safe this time imo. Esp after a stunning stunning FW09 show, I was expecting to be swept off of my feet but to be fair, I've been usually more enchanted by his FW shows rather than SS

Over-the-top insanely gorgeous. Everything from the killer shoes and the showstopping jewelry to the beautifully draping and the one-shoulder cocktail dresses.
Bravo Alber

I think he did an amazing job again. Sometimes i have that feeling it´s much trash on one but it has so much vibe and HC in it that have to like it. The details are great, the cuts are interesting, some of them reminds me on Jil Sander from last season. But in all it´s a great, great collection.

Not liking the piercing colors, but I have to say it's among the better collections so far.

i was really talking about the body conscious fit of the silhouette although i did forget about this lanvin piece. it makes it even more clear that they're working from the same playbook.
