Luminous, Glowy and Healthy Skin

hmmmmm

a couple things ive learned

drinking at least 2 litres of water and a cup of green tea a day
eating raw vegetables and no dairy whatsoever

steaming my face for a long period of time and using lots lemon juice on my face, these have reaaaaly helped me

Lemon juice?

^ Yeah, lemon juice sounds like it'd be harsh?

I received my High Beam a couple of days ago. :woot:

However...

At this point I am not impressed. Perhaps I am not applying enough? I go with my normal dab of bronzer here and there and then blended. No effect.

It might be that you're not applying enough :flower:.
It's very sheer. I take about a small pea size and stroke it over my cheekbones and nose. I don't blend. Also, I let my moisturizer dry before I apply it.

Agree!! After a week of eating no refined sugar, your skin glows like a model's!! ^_^

It's hard to motivate yourself for the first week, but once you see the results, you'll cut out sugar more often in the future! :flower:

I am soooooooo going to try this!! I also find wearing less make up and washing your skin less.... natural oils seem to make the skin glow.

This may be kind of simple and old, but sleep, sunscreen, and water are the best things for your skin!

ahahhaha i really like that idea.......... maybe that can break the female stereotype of not wanting to do it!

I have been mixing Revlon Skinlights in with my ELF mineral foundation for daytime and Lumene Crystal Radiance with my Smashbox liquid foundation for night or when my skin is dry.

What d o you do with the lemon juice?
Do you use it after you steam? Doesn't that hurt?

you must be carefull with lemon juice if you have a sensible complexion....or not...

hmm I remember Daria Werbowy mentioning lemon on her face as one of her 'beauty secrets'. I'll see if I can find it.

^ Please let me know... I'm interested.

Found it!

EC: What is the best beauty advice anyone has ever given you?
DW: My grandmother used lemon juice as a toner and cleanser. She squeezed it onto a cotton pad and cleansed her face with it. Once her skin is dry, she'd rinse with cold water. It works wonders for your skin.

Is it the acid that does something? I don't quite understand the science behind that. Thanks for posting, Black Orchid.

I would never put that on my skin  It is SO harsh, lemon juice is a semi strong acid. pH 2.4 as far as I remember.

That's why you would dilute it. Same goes for essential oils...never use straight essential oils on the skin as they can burn the corneum layer (top layer of epidermis).

And you should never steam longer than 10 minutes and the steam should be at least 12-16 inches (or an arm's length away) from your face...Never just put your face right over a steaming pot of water on the stove if you do it yourself.

i hope i don't sound slow or anything when asking this, but what does everyone mean by "refined sugar"? i'm thinking of cutting it out of my diet so i could see results, as well :bounce:
