#3 + #17 look so v. marni to me
I love the way she reapplies roughly the same silhouette every season . . but still manages to keep everything looking fresh & current.

i love the silhouette too but i find it very bland overall. it doesn't seem to have that oomph that consuelo used to have in the collections. the furry waistcoat/gilet's are soo sonny and cher...ick!

Im not a Marni lover....I never really pay attention to it..but I love this collection, probably my favorite thus far:woot:...although I have not seen Dolce or Versace:innocent:

I hear you on this one Scott.

Although in a way I find myself quite relieved that theres a sort of consistency w/her collections now. I rarely find myself looking to Marni for 'surprises' during fashion week . . I feel like we all know what to expect, & when she delivers, its well-made, well-styled & just . . satisfying?.

To get back to your point, some more oomph would be welcome, I agree . . on the hope that she doesn't go all over the map from season to season [ahem . . marc jacobs].
'reinvention' is too scary a word when it comes to my favorite designers.

Other than emphasis on the shoulder in some jackets and asymmetrical ruffles, there's not much new in this collection. The brand is moving a long very slowly. Perhaps it's an effort to keep their client happy (which is a very devote and intense group of women) but I think the kind of woman who would be drawn to the brand would just as easily become bored by something so stagnant.

I mean, how many oversized, tech fabric, boxy coats
or abstractly gathered blouses
or sack dresses does a woman need?

very marni, and as usual, i adore it. the shapes and cuts are pretty similar to other marni collections, but i love that each season the prints, colors, and textures of the different fabrics give the collections a different feel. i really like the pale dusty colors too. gorgeous. can't wait to see detail shots (the shoes!).
i wish the majority of this collection would magically appear in my closet...

Ohhhh, the giant cookie monster blue fur coat!
The hats and sunglasses are slightly bizarre, but I always love the jewellery and colour palette, although a little too much murky brown for my taste.

Apart from a few beautiful pieces here and there, I'm not impressed by this. That feeling of unpretentious ease that some of her earlier collections embraced has dissapeared :(

What fantastic use of soft and beautiful colors! I like this--it's beautiful in its relative simplicity.

I think this is rather adorable -
if only the color palette weren't so 'bleh'... :ermm:
A lot of rly lovely pieces though..
Some of the fits look a bit funny, sadly...
The 4th look in post 42 is pretty much perfect, imo...
I also rly love the prints!
Much better than last season's collection -
though still, nowhere near the excellence of past collections...

I consistently love the colors incorporated into the Marni collections. I agree with what others are saying above, Marni rarely produces something shockingly different, but I like the fact that the label continues to be consistent in churning out the same style in slight variations every season.

It's nice to have a label that continues to provide a particular clientele with what it wants, that doesn't have drastic changes every few years like Chloe recently--Andersson and McCartney, for example, had vastly different styles.

Anyway, there aren't THAT many pieces from this collection that I'd genuinely be interested in wearing out, but I love Marni's quirky vibe and these photos are definitely eye candy.

I really love some of this......thank goodness....I like the palette and particularly some of the pastel colours......there are some great skirts and i love the short furs. No its not particularly innovative.....but its a good collection that I'd wear.
