nick has quite the opinion on alot of models he.. "dislikes" he talks about alot of them on his stickam. he seems to hate quite a few.

If Stam and Lily really are 'b*tches' then why do they keep getting so much work?! If people don't find them pleasant to work with, why are they so ubiquitous with magazines like Vogue and photographers like Meisel?

It's been posted here (if not in this thread, than others) that Lily will only really talk to you if you're someone important. So if you're not Meisel/a model/a designer/Anna Wintour, then she might be nice. But obviously they will not be rude to the people who help make their careers / keep them employed. But the stylists/assistants/etc. are fair game, apparently, because they don't really control if she gets re-hired again.

It's called sucking up to the "right" people and walking all over everyone else. It's an art that many have perfected, in cluding Lily and Stam I guess.

you know, i think it's a shame that some models are snobs and do treat those who may not have much of a say as to if they will or will not be re-hired like trash. i mean, you expect these girls to be humble, simply because a great majority of them were discovered at the most random of places, a mall, a grocery store, a dance recital, and etc., etc.! they didn't go to modeling school. they didn't struggle in order to be noticed. i would say that a majority of these girls/women didn't send their pictures to an agency, nor were they born with the dream of becoming a model as a goal and worked towards it. at least, the models who's threads i read and who i always spot on the runway, they were mostly discovered. and really, if you are given a big break, a once in a lifetime shot like that? you would think that it would remind you to remain humble no matter how big you may get, because you should always remember that before someone randomly presented you with this amazing opportunity? you were just another plain jane, and you were probably no where near the level of those stylists/assistants/etc. that you are now treating like crap!

it's a shame that these girls, those who are mentioned as perhaps being complete snobs, allow all of it to rush to their heads when in any moment in time, another amazing model could come along and push them off their tracks and off of the runway for good. (not literally! i mean that figuratively speaking.)

Well, for the girls who never went to modeling school (does such a thing actually legitimately exist?) or sent their pictures to a modeling agency, it means they never really wanted that much to model. People have different priorities, there are many reasons to begin/continue modeling ($ for one) but people have different priorities, and may not see it as an "amazing opportunity." Then again, some people need their heads shrunk.

I think that's the point. Would Lily and Stam really be disrespectful to someone like Meisel?

Of course they wouldn't. Meisel is the one that will get the jobs, and everyone knows that jobs equal money. I get the feeling from many interviews, articles about her, and from people that have met them is that they are respectful to people that will get them jobs, but not to everyone else. ;)

That's not just a model thing though. You will always act differently around certain people. The level of respect you show a parent or teacher will differ in comparision to how you treat a sibling or friend. Sometimes it's a comfort thing, (for example, I tend to be very quiet around people that I don't know, as oposed to when I'm around my friends and family, where I don't shut up:lol:) other times, it's just a matter of knowing how far you can go with some people. It doesn't necesairly mean that you're a bad person for acting like brat every once in a while. Who doesn't have their moments?

^I do agree with that. And I also act differently around different people. I just find it kind of bratty when you will act rude and disrespectful to people like fans, backstage people, backstage photographers and then go and act lovely to people like Meisel. It seems that you only care about the jobs that you get and nothing else. It's just my opinion and that's why I am not fan of them. :)

modeling schools do exist, although i am pretty sure that 80% of them are ripoffs. they do exist, though, it's just hard to find a legit one that won't promise you the world and promise you fame in exchange for a huge wad of money. and i understand what you mean about how many of these girls didn't want to become models and are perhaps doing it for the money. but if they are doing it for the money, i would think that that would cause them to be even more humble... because they need this job, they need the money. and if it weren't for the amazing opportunity that they were given? they wouldn't have that money.

True shyness can sometimes come accross as icyness or snobiness. I know from experience! But my friend was lucky to encounter Lily after a MJ show and said she was a total b*tch to some lady...which I am only guessing this could be her assistant or something!
