Model Behavior (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

Where did I state it does?

But if you're chosen to walk a show like that you should realize that people think you're special without having to rub it in and demand approval. It makes you seem desperate and insecure. Girls like Patricia or Lisanne don't feel the need to show people how rare they are because they know it's true (that's how they come across at least) and it makes them much more superior and desirable.
What makes her "special" is that she is tall, skinny and young, which applies to a good chunk of runway modeling these days and it especially applies to McQueen because it is one of the more "models as clothes hangers" houses. Therefore as long as you meet the physical requirement, act professionally while on the job and can walk in crazy shoes, you can be as narcissistic, immature, and lacking in depth as you want to be off the job, and who knows if Lee was still around he may even wear an "I Love You Theres" t-shirt in your honor. To be sure it is an honor to walk for McQueen, but for 99% or the models, while it may be a tremendous boost to your resume and ego, it is not the same as having an life-altering spiritual experience.

Where did I state it does?
You stated that because she walked for McQueen that you "expect her to be above that rubbish" and also earlier, but admittedly not in connection with McQueen, you wrote that you "hope she'll find some 'deeper' purpose to her life," and therefore I concluded, perhaps erroneously, that you believe that models who walk for prestigious houses like McQueen should have depth.

You don't have to act like a spoiled just because you're not 20 yet ;) Age justifies nothing.

Age can still provide some ground for justification. In my opinion, Theres acts normally. It's just some people may have some standards for models to follow in terms of humbleness.

"Find a deeper purpose to her life..." Something else than caring about the way she looks.

"Walking for McQueen..." Not having a blog for the sole purpose of posting mobile-phone pics of yourself to have others tell you how pretty you are over and over again.

I don't know what's not to understand about that.

... but she's a model, her job is her looks and therefore caring about her looks makes sense to me.

How do we know what the sole purpose of her blog? Has she written an "About This Blog" statement where she states something to the effect, "the sole purpose of this blog is for me to post mobile phone pics of myself and have people tell me how pretty I am over and over again," and does she give minute-by-minute details of her day that demonstrate that every waking moment is spent in worshiping herself and getting others to do the same?

It would not come as a shock to me if she is indeed a silly and shallow girl, and of course it is anyone's prerogative to dislike those qualities, just like some of us don't like a certain hair color or walking style.

Which model do you guys think has the best personality? Why?

Karlie and Constance, for me.
I've heard that they are the most sweetest girls of the "younger" generation and so far everyone that has met them, have only positive reviews (especially of Karlie).

I think Sasha has the best personality from what I can see (of course I am biased :p) She's professional, funny, smart and I've never actually heard anything bad about her. Her interviews are always so endearing and she has such a chidlike quality about her, I think it's so adorable.

I strongly disagree. She is 19, she is an adult - she should know how to behave and how not to behave by now. But hey, she probably is a spoilt brat - if no one expects you to behave like an adult, then why would you?

For best personality, I would agree with saying that it's Sasha P. She's professional, funny, smart, friendly. She probably books many jobs just cuz of her personality!

In real life experience, i would say Adriana Lima has a really good personality. She really cares about her fans and she has a warmth about her. When I met her she was unbelievably sweet.

I just went through the last five pages or so reading about this Theres girl (didn't even know who it was until I went to her blog).

Frankly, I'm SHOCKED at the amount of negative comments, picking apart Theres and her blog. Somehow, from a simple, harmless blog about a girl's travels and everyday experiences (which, lets be honest, she travels and sees more than most of us do) people deducted that she's narcisistic, lacks depth, spoiled, immature, arrogant... what else? Is this even real life?

First, I don't know what exactly she said to that one poster who said her blog was narcissistic because her comment was never translated properly (which I though was against tFS rules, btw, to post something in a different language without providing translation). Either way, it seems her big sin that everyone wants to burn her on the stake for, is for being "narcissistic". It brings me to my second point, I don't see what is so bad and narcissistic about her having a blog where she posts her pictures? Aren't EVERY internet media where we post things about ourselves a bit narcissistic? Take facebook, live journal, myspace, whatever, people love to post things about themselves. If Theres is narcissistic, how is that different from millions of other people who post things about themselves, plenty of them who also post here too. Third, she's a MODEL, her appearance is what pays her bills, why shouldn't she be allowed to take pride in that? If I looked that good, you damn better believe I'd be feeling good about that and if it makes other people uncomfortable, maybe it's not Theres that's the one with a problem. It doesn't say anything about her not having depth or immature or whatever else terms were thrown around. She gets to travel all over the world, walks for some of the most prestigious designers, wears some of the nicest things, why can't she take a picture of that and commemorate it on her blog? And at least she's not pretentious. As someone already made this point, at least she doesn't make a blog about the "cool/edgy" things that teens these days obsess about, rather she made it about herself because that's what she knows. I'll take someone like Theres over someone like Taylor Momsen who acts like she's this wise intellectual any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Now excuse me, Theres got herself another fan just now.

^ I kind of love you and agree with everything you said.

About her having a blog and posting pictures of herself...so? I've seen tons of other blogs like this, from girls who have yet to make it or are on their way to making it - posting pictures of their work, updating about their travels for friends and family and whoever else may stumble upon the blog. Also successful girls with Facebook accounts often upload some of their work on there as well. Are they all to be burned at the stake as narcissists?

It's not her blog that's the problem, it's her thoroughly immature way of handling criticism.

^ well the crusade started because of the blog so. As for her response, I really don't want to get into that because Google Translator didn't really make much sense to me so I don't want to base my opinion and go into attack on something I'm unsure of.

I don't have anything against her blog. I personally have one, so I don't see anything wrong with it.
It's just the way she replied to us that seemed "narcissistic". (to me at least)

Happens to a lot of models...:innocent:

she needs to learn how to talk to people but i think that is it ... after all the blog is about her, why would you be reading it if you didn't want to read about her? that leaves me perplexed. In any event, in my humble and somewhat insignificant opinion, blogging is sort of narcissistic in essence, you are valuing your points and views above everyone elses, so much so that you feel the need to inundate the world with them, some would say pollute, because you think they are important ... or you know, whatever. Which would probably bring us to forums and i should probably shut up lol.

but yeah, immature, bratty in response, an unfounded injurious attitude ... but sounds 17 to me, for her own sake i do hope she grows out of it.

 I hope I'm not the only one that got that.

I also don't agree with all the harsh comments towards Theres. Even if there's an undertone of narcissism in her comment, you have to try and see where she's coming from.

Look she's a model, she's always by herself working and she has people telling her she's beautiful all day and you expect her not to be narcissistic? Give her a break, she's a model who's job is to model, nothing more nothing less...
