Model Behavior (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

A few models (Rianne Van Rompaey, Gigi Hadid, Mica Arganaraz) are donating their earnings from this Fall 2022-23 shows season to people suffering from the war in Ukraine.
Out of curiosity how much do we think they earn? I imagine the hadids could get a solid 5 figures for some shows maybe

I just saw a bunch of stuff on Twitter about how Bella got a nose job when she was 14?? I never thought about that. Sheesh you could always see glimpses of how much a piece of work Yolanda was on rhobh but she sounds like a total nightmare

I have a cousin who got a nose job at 16 lol it’s a cruel society and trust me, as much as they’re all like GASP A NOSE job?!, she would hear no end of the ‘she could be so pretty, it’s just the nose that is…..’.

Also this is a hot topic so watch me do a hit-and-run post but lol at the shock that somehow evaporates at the: ‘finally shaved my jaw so I can be my true gender, thank god my parents were so supportive from an early age!’. No judgement, just.. clearly some reasons generate more empathy than others even if it’s ultimately all related to internal turmoil that is completely inconsequential to a ‘better world’.

^ Agreed, I think noses are a different ballgame for women. My schoolmate back in the day was bullied online rather heavily due to the size and shape of her nose. A friend of mine got hers done at a young age too, she's Middle Eastern but grew up in Scandinavia, so you can only imagine.

That is true. In most cases imo if your pre-frontal cortex is not fully developed then you should not be getting a cosmetic procedure done like a nose job that is irreversible. With gender dysphoria I feel like there's prob a ton of consultations done with psychiatrists prior to getting the work done I would hope. In the case of yoyolemons she probably just bullied her daughter for having a certain type of nose... but also, in some cultures nose jobs are the norm i.e. Persians

I hated my face at 14 and would have carved the sh*t out of it if my parents had facilitated that! I feel totally differently now as an adult and it would have been a huge mistake. Way to teach your child that she's unbearably flawed, Yolanda. Clearly that hasn't affected Bella AT ALL

Olga Kurylenko just tore Natalia a new one in the comments section of that post.

What did Olga say?

I did say it in Natalia's thread and will say it again here, she doesn't have to get political if she doesn't want to. She's never been political. Obviously her words would not change anything, they could only be a personal statement for her fans.

I actually came to this thread because of Natasha Poly, whom I don't even like as a person, but I wanted to say just the same thing about her after I saw that she got bashed in Instagram for not making any statement whats-so-ever, and why does everyone think she must? Her words don't matter just like any words of any people in this situation, so what if she chooses not to bring it up? She, as well as Natalia, are only models after all.

You're 100% right - Russian models don't have to say anything about it. Just like all these Western companies didn't have to leave Russia. But they did because they knew the PR consequences of remaining silent and continuing to support Russia by operating there after the invasion began. Look at all the Ukrainian models like Alla Kostromichova posting constantly about the war and how to help. You'd think Natalia as a UN Goodwill Ambassador would be doing the same but alas...silence. Absolute silence since her half-***ed response. These Russian models are ambassadors of Russia whether they like it or not. It comes with the job just like any other celebrities from around the world.

The silence from them, especially the fact that they're not even posting anything on social media at all (except for Irina K), makes them look really bad from a PR perspective. Refusing to speak out about it as influential Russians to a fan base of millions is a big bullet to the foot.

If they decide to start posting again they'll either have to heavily censor the comments or turn off comments forever because people will come for them for remaining silent on the issue.

‘It is not possible to stay quiet’: Putin’s first victim of ‘fake news’ law speaks out

Socialite and food blogger Veronika Belotserkovskaya says she is both amused and shocked to be charged

One of the first three people to face a criminal case under Russia’s “fake news” law has said the charges mean she has been “officially declared a decent person”.

“To find out I was the first one to be charged was both amusing and shocking. I joked that I was officially declared a decent person,” said Veronika Belotserkovskaya, a food entrepreneur and blogger with almost 1 million Instagram followers. She was one of three Russians charged under the new law carrying a sentence of up to 15 years in prison, and that marked an escalation in Russia’s crackdown on anti-war dissent.

The investigative committee said the case was opened against Belotserkovskaya over posts published on her Instagram page that “contained knowingly false information about the use of the Russian armed forces”. Belotserkovskaya, who has fiercely criticised Russia’s action in Ukraine, said the specific charges against her could land her in jail for 10 years.

“I am exactly the type of person Putin had in mind when he launched his speech last night. He wants to frame people like me as traitors, the fifth column,” she said from her house in the south of France, where she settled during the pandemic and where she now runs an upmarket cooking school. “I live a good life, post pretty pictures online about food. They now want to portray me as the face of the ‘decadent west’.”

Belotserkovskaya was referring to the speech the Russian president made on Wednesday in which he called for a “necessary self-purification of society”, aimed at western-minded Russians who weren’t “mentally” with the nation.

Putin said: “The Russian people will always be able to distinguish true patriots from scum and traitors and simply spit them out like a fly that accidentally flew into their mouth. I am convinced that such a natural and necessary self-purification of society will only strengthen our country, our solidarity, cohesion and readiness to respond to any challenges.” He added that certain Russians “cannot live without oysters and gender freedoms”.

Belotserkovskaya said she was “a sensible person. I am definitely not planning on returning to Russia as long as these charges are there”.

She says it was telling that the authorities did not charge a journalist or a politician under the new law, but a food and lifestyle blogger. “They are aiming to punish a much broader swath of society,” she said.

In the aftermath of Putin’s speech, analysts voiced similar concerns that the Russian leader was laying the grounds for a new, even fiercer crackdown at home.

“The Kremlin has de-facto brought back the Soviet term of ‘enemy of the state’ by referring to Russian people as ‘national traitors’,” said Andrei Kolesnikov, a senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment. “We are entering a new phase of a process that has been going on for a while. The goal is to discredit everyone who voices his opposition against Putin.”

Belotserkovskaya, 51, born in Odesa, is a well-known figure in Moscow high society, counting many socialites as her friends, including Ksenia Sobchak, the daughter of Putin’s political mentor Anatoly Sobchak.

She had been a vocal opponent of the war ever since Putin ordered his troops to invade Ukraine, accusing the Russian leader of turning Russian “boys aged 18- 20 into the mincemeat of his imperial ambitions”.

“I am not a political person, I am speaking out as a mother of three sons. Ukrainian children are dying, it is not possible to stay quiet,” Belotserkovskaya said, saying she felt safe speaking out from abroad. “Many of my friends in Russia agree with me but are scared to say anything. I completely understand that.”

The charge against Belotserkovskaya points to the Kremlin’s willingness to go after Russia’s social, business and cultural elites that voice even the slightest opposition against Putin’s war efforts.

One wealthy Russian businessperson, who lived in London but frequently travelled to Moscow, said: “I don’t really feel safe returning to Russia after the speech. The signals were as clear as they get.”

I don't really see how a model is necessarily an ambassador of her country. I mean, they are just models, we all love models here of course, but aren't they a 'supporting cast' really? Besides, I think any person has a right to stay neutral online or offline, in any situation, and must not be blamed for it if this is their choice.

I added my two cents on Natalia’s predicament in her thread.. maybe she owes the world an explanation or maybe she doesn’t but I think the celebrity and ‘me me me’ culture that supports that expectation, and subsequently feels outraged when it’s not met, is far more damaging. It takes far more physical and mental effort to hold local political leaders accountable than a celebrity, but yeah, finding the contact info of whoever represents my district and can actually request a budget to help the Ukrainians and simultaneously condemn Putin/debilitate his regime on my behalf? forget it, how boring, let’s find that woman who did a Gucci campaign once, I heard she’s Russian, let’s see if she’s on the right side! I’m sure at least one person will heart my activism when I troll her photos begging her to say something, ANYTHING..

Both stories have been republished by Google news for free. I recommend starting there if not adept at evading paywalls.

As a Russian woman I think it's important to speak out about current situation, and I do, but keep in mind I am not a public person and I do not live in Russia, and at this point I am scared to visit my homeland, partially because I am very vocal about my views in person and on social media. I want to be a devil's advocate here. Unfortunately, Russian government came up with a set of ridiculous laws that they use to shut down the voices speaking out against war and condoning actions of the Russian army. Every time you tell the truth about this war, it might cost you some $ and possibly freedom. If Natalia is more vocal, it is very possible that her charitable work in Russia will be affected, and she also has family in the country. I know it's easy to judge, and initially I was judgmental too, but you have to remember how much the freedom of speech has been killed off, and you have to be mindful about what you say and how you say it. MagFan has shared an article above about Veronika Belotserkovskaya, I am following her, she hasn't posted anything offensive, she was condoning government, supporting Ukraine , including financial help, and now there is a lawsuit...
I feel my country has turned on its head. Black is now white, lies are the truth, truth is lie and should be punished.
