Model Behavior (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

She does do events in Ukraine though, she did Fashion Week there for free and she was on the judging panel for Miss Ukraine. They might not be totally altruistic, it's good publicity for her too...but they gain from having a supermodel there as well :flower:

And also she said she doesn't have many friends, but she's been close to Sasha, Vlada, Natasha from the beginning and now Olga and Maryna. I guess she's just the type to have few close friends.
i hear it 1st time, thanks! somehow it made me like her

smokebreak, you can't say you enjoy traveling? I thought that was another standard "model answer" lol.

Well, the concept of traveling to all the new different places is wonderful for sure but once you get down to it... a typical travel goes like this:

You shoot all day and then catch a flight after work. You depart NY in the nighttime, 8 hours later you're in Europe but it's already morning and you have to go directly to a shoot. Sleeping in airplanes is a hard deal to manage for most so you're not exactly rested, may feel ill as well and this tends to put people in bad moods. That's what we call "flying redeye."
You get picked up in a car and taken to the shoot. 90% of the time it's in a studio for numerous reasons. You get right to work. Finish. Because you're so tired from the little amount of sleep and working all of that day or because it's possible very late, you go to your hotel and try to squeeze in as many hours as possible. Then you get picked up extremely early in the morning and taken back to the airport to go back home. Or sometimes they'll just send you back to the airport immediately after the shoot.

Most of the time, the only thing you actually get to see while traveling is what you see from the inside of the car and the different hotel rooms.

On the rare occasion that you do shoot in a scenic on-location set, you can take it in and go "ah, lovely!" and then get crammed back into the van :) lol

During fashion weeks it's a little different because you might have the opportunity, if you're not busy which is rare, to wander around and eat at some local places or pop into some shops. But for the majority of models, work kind of takes it's toll on your body and your schedule so much it numbs out the positive experiences and wonders of traveling.

jet-set lifestyle = jet-lag lifestyle

^^^aww, i hope when you get the time , go and snuggle up in your sheets with hot cocoa on your tble top right next to you(if your bedroom is set up like that

they should offer spa treatments on those planes. :judge:

nonetheless, though, no matter how tired or jet lagged any model may feel, i don't think that that gives them a legitimate reason to treat anyone badly or disrespectfully. i mean... i'm not a model, but i do work in the fashion industry and i spent a total of eleven hours at work today, on heels, and rushing everywhere in order to get my work done. but it is common courtesy and the first rule of professionalism that one has to leave their troubles and issues at the door when they enter their job and not take out their frustrations upon their co-workers. meaning that if a model is tired and restless and cranky? they should leave it at the door before they enter a shoot, and not attempt to take out their tiresomeness upon a make-up artists or an assistant.

i'm not saying that you do that! but, some models have been known to do that. and really, it's a shame. :( and it's not professional, at all!

Oh no I understand. I was just speaking of the cranky and tired conditions to explain why traveling isn't always the easiest thing to enjoy. Of course I know models can act out onto people when they are in foul moods though, fashion week particularly can put them into full blown diva-mode but it's true, there's no excuse for taking it out onto others.
Of course it doesn't help that the majority of models are.. young. And it's hard to really drill in the concept of professionalism to not-yet adult girls.
...and the older ones are just too crazy to save. ;)

oh it's fine I was just making one of those "lolcat" jokes ^_^ my roomate and i actually do the hot cocoa thing quite often. It's a silly kiddie thing but I swear it kills pouty faces for sure :flower:

ahh, i don't know if it's the age. maybe it is, maybe you are right. :flower: but i for one am rather young and i always leave my attitude at the door when i enter my job. it's just not nice to lay a diva fit on someone who is there to help you, more than likely, you know? but all in all... thankfully, the models that do act out are probably just a handful. and the pleasant and professional models probably outweigh those who do act out. :p

and by the way, i think that the fact that you are in here and on the boards and posting along with the rest of us comes to show that the pleasant models that haven't allowed the spotlight to rise to their heads do outweigh the divas. so, thank you!

andi muise as well. the other day she posted in her thread letting us know about one of her editorials and i think that was super sweet of her, that she logged onto tfs to let us know.

^^Same with me when I used to be a model. It's not fair and not very good to your career when you act like you own the place or when you weep to the hairstylist or make up artist about your problems. It's like there are two of you: the You with the problems and everything, and the Model one who doesn't really care about anything than just do her best on shootings/shows.

^^^lol, i thought it would, in the summer ice tea, will cool you down, from editors and such

i used to be a hair model when i was a kid, and granted, i always had my mother around to give me a fierce look if i were to even think about misbehaving. but i think that even at that age, i knew that those hairstylists and etc. were only there to help me and make me look beautiful. they didn't need any attitude or crankiness from me, nor would they deserve it. so yeah, i agree. models have to remember that they are being paid to be there and being paid to have to travel those long hours and etc., etc.! they have to try to be the best that they can be and not a brat.

models flying behaviors

i was boarding a flight and ran into a certain top tier model.
exchanged hellos and small talk...
when we got to our respective seats ... she compfied herself, pulled a blanket almost over her head ... and snooze away.
i on the other hand watching all this and just chuckled to myself...
