Model Casting F/W 10.11

Eventhough some models I like were doing rather good I feel so disappointet that I'm barely excited about Paris. If only I had to choose which new face gets a spot at those oh so prestigious runway shows...out of the new faces so far I'm only excited about Carla Gebhart.

To me the big problem is too many similar girls. They look too much alike with each other.
I love to see a girl what stands out of the rest, like the new girls Jacquelyn Jablonski, Valerija Kelava, Alla Kostromicheva, Joan Smalls, Laís Riberio, Mengyao Xi, Sun Feifei and Kirsi Pyrhonen - and of course the big girls!!! Sasha Pivovarova, Natasha Poly, Daiane Conterato, Karlie Kloss, Magdalena Frackowiak, Siri Tollerød ...

what the heck happened to some of the promising new girls that were doing very well in NY/London? :(

Marike, Jenny, Patricia, Ann...not as many good shows as I expected although today Pat did quite well.

I think Patricia does not do many shows because of her disease. About the others I don't know. To me Milan looked like it paid more attention to established girls.

I've never paid attention to casting trends until now. It can definitely ruin or make a show. With castings been so dull, what can we expect from Paris?

Balmain and Isabelle Marant = established girls only. I expect a few *veterans* to come out.
Balaneciaga should be interesting.
McQueen- dunno itf it's a runway or presentation and don't know what will happen
Chanel- Freja and half the NEXT board...+ Baptiste. (unfortunately)
Valentino- don't care, the clothes will be ugly anyways.

How many models were at Dolce & Gabbana. It seemed like a TON considering each model only got one outfit and the show was nearly 15 minutes (I think).

I can already predict who will appear at Balmain. Anna S, Natasha, Anja, Snejana, etc. I can see the possibility of Carmen, Bianca Balti, and maybe Daria Werbowy as well.

does anyone know who is the CD for Francesco Scognamiglio? For a relatively more unknown designer he's had a pretty solid casting over the past few seasons.
I have no clue who casts it, but as I understand the agencies are keen to support his show because he's just about the most promising designer on the Milan schedule (along with Aquilano & Rimondi).

Milan was OK in terms of casting, aside from Versace. But umm, I find a lot of the new girls to be, a little plain? Or just lifeless. I've really enjoyed seeing some of the more diverse new models on the runway though, especially Lais R and Joan Smalls. It was nice to see them do so much work in Milan. Mengyao Xi is also promising

I hope McQueen is going to be an amazing tribute show like some think it will be with an all star cast.
Givenchy of course will have a great cast, they always have one of my favorite casts of the season.

i don't know who mentioned it but the Calvin girls (Julia and Melissa) have done almost all the same shows together. definitely a packaged deal.

Speaking of Aquilano Rimondi, they had a fairly low key casting this season. Downgrade compare to last season.

The casting for this season is super DULL....no STAR quality what so ever!!! These girls can not sell a garment if their life depended on it....give me Natasha in a trashbag, and ill take 2 in everycolor please!:flower:

yes, Dolce always has a lot of models, who walk just one time beside from the more etsablished models (Natatasha,MCB) who wear the gowns at the end. Last 2 seasons it wasn't the case 'cause of these "all models strutting down the runway in bodys at the same time"
But I actually like the Dolce shows 'cause I can be sure that my favs and fav newbies will walk there ;)

Casting has definitely been super boring this season, but one girl that's stood out for me is Joan Smalls. I really hope her runway successes can translate into some great covers and editorials- she's beautiful!
